Are these acrylic?
If they're acrylic as listed in the description they should be called aquamarine-colored because calling them aquamarine is misleading as it is a semi-precious gemstone. If they are synthetic aquamarine, the description should be updated.
Either way $40 for a non-laser-etched and stamped synthetic or acrylic die set that isn't properly weighted or sized is not worth your time. There are better options.

These are NOT acrylic, thank god I would have ask for a refund if they were. Synthetic aquamarine gemstone. Look alot better in real life, and feel great.
Update: Mine chipped in the first month of using them. If you do roll them becareful and maybe one at a time on a suede or leather surface.

Mine just came in and they are SO COOL. Someone got these off massdrop for me as a gift. I heard they are a little more fragile so I took a cigar box, lined it with felt and nice paper and thats what l plan on using when I roll. Everything said a picture won't do it justice, (having two eyes gives them this pearlescent look, since each eye gets a slightly different gleam)

It says aquamarine stone, yet, the description says acrylic? Which one is it? Big price difference if they're plastic or the semi-precious stone.

Came in the mail today, very very pleased with the quality.
Visually they are stunning, the play of light inside the dice is awesome.
I worry the silkscreened ink won't hold up, but plan on keeping them in a case for now.

Based on relatively limited research, it seems that the material making up these dice is not aquamarine cat's eye, cat's eye, or even quartz cat's eye. The coloration, hardness, and price are all different from the loose stones that can be found on gemstone storefronts.
My guess is that the high price relative to other acrylic sets is just due to the particular style of the set. In other words, you're paying for perceived aesthetic value and not for material rarity. I could be completely wrong though; I'm admittedly not an expert on precious stones and their synthetic counterparts.

I think its a misprint. These are synthetic gemstones to the best of my knowledge.
