I have nothing against acrylic dice and love the looks of these. But $15-20 seems high given normal acrylic prices. Can anyone comment on the quality of these? What justifies the cost?
Hello everyone,
There was an error with our description page regarding on the material. The dice is acrylic dye instead of marble.
Apologies for the confusion and inconvenience, the page has been updated.
We also received a better pricing from our vendor and would like to share those savings with you. New drop point should be reflected shortly. Enjoy!
Why wasn't an email sent out that the item description changed? I'm pretty miffed that I went into this thinking I was ordering a beautiful set of Marble Dice and then get an email that my paypal has gone through a much lower price than expected (fine), but then I have to go to the drop page to find out that there was an error with the description? Not happy at all with this.
SchnooAfter seeing this drop, I looked on Amazon. I bought 6 sets of dice, and now I'm going to sell them for $10 a piece. So... this deal is terrible, but thanks for encouraging me to do 2 minutes of market research. I'm going to make $45, and I'm not going to ever use it to buy dice from Massdrop.
I agree; they look "plastic." Can anyone confirm if this is made out of real marble? Also, is the numbering engraved of printed? All of MDG's other stone dice are printed, so a little surprised they were able to get engraved and didn't launch on Kickstarter instead (like they have traditionally been doing).
Sorry, I wasn't interpreting that you were attacking me. But if you had bothered to read the comment right above mine stating that the description of marble was incorrect and that it is in reality acrylic (and that it hs been now fixed), then my comment would've made sense.
What makes these dice have a higher MSRP than the metal turquoise dice listed next to them on the main page? These are acrylic and are available online for the same price as the lowest drop point, yet the MSRP is listed as $45. The turquoise metal set is listed at $40. Just want to know where the 67% comes from (so far, it isn't accurate). However, it seems like this has already been addressed here, but no one wants to answer. What gives?
PresBillClintonFor your Consideration:
"Hi PresBillClinton,
Thank you for contacting us!
The $45 MSRP is indeed a mistake. When we first offered them to Massdrop, they were mistakenly listed as real marble dice, as there was a miscommunication. This is what drove the $45 MSRP. We are not able to control or edit Massdrop's listings, but I will contact them to see if we can get this error corrected!
Thanks again.
Best,
Adam Hackett
