Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

Seriously, if these come up again, don't buy.
I can only recommend if you have some HM5 or similar pads lying around.
I haven't had any issues with pops or drops however, my testing includes an iPhone 6S Plus, iPhone 7 Plus, 2013 MBP and an iPad Air 2.
If you're on a windows laptop try checking your sound settings in the Control Panel while the headphones are connected. (If you're on Windows 10 & the speaker icon is on your task bar just right click on the the speaker and select "Playback Devices" to go directly into the Control Panel - Sound - Playback interface.) Make sure your Bluetooth headphones are connected and set as an Audio Device. (You can even turn off some of the Windows EQ and effects to get a less processed signal to your headphones by double clicking on your audio device here, which takes you to "Speaker Properties" and selecting the Enhancements tab then check the box beside "Disable All Enhancements"
I'm only chiming in because I've gotten excellent playback with these headphones from both my laptop and various other Android devices once I made sure they were connected as an Audio Device. Granted they won't ever sound as great as my Sennheiser HD 598s connected via wire to my NuPrime uDSD combo but for mobile use these headphones have been pretty darn clear and musically engaging for me. I use them only around the house though as I have a pair of noise cancelling headphones for travel.
