ciditAt least you're making me feel better. I was tempted by them even though I'm pretty much out of the game, and really don't need them. As they get larger, I get more tempted...
griiffiiinnI'm still waiting for the 38% Keyboard sample to arrive, but I've been doing some testing with the Triple Knob version in the meantime, here's what I've been able to do in Final Cut Pro X.
I was able to program the top left knob for command plus when rotating right, and command minus when rotating left. This zooms in and out of the timeline. Clicking it performs shift Z which brings the full timeline into view.
The second smaller knob is programmed for down arrow when rotating right, and up arrow when rotating left. This skips between elements on the timeline.
Lastly, I programmed the big knob to perform arrow right when rotating right, and arrow left when rotating left. This gives me frame by frame control using the big knob.
I set a few macros to the normal switches to do things like option F (insert freeze frame), and command B (insert break). I also tested setting up a more complex macro that performs command B, left arrow (move one frame back), and then option F to insert a freeze frame of the prior clip after breaking it.
I have not been successful in programming a macro to the knob directions, but I was able to set the functionality listed above by using the ANY key function in VIA.
I hope that helps!
frankpassalacquaI know! I bought the first one with a single knob and 4 buttons. I felt that was reasonable. I've wanted every one since, but I have had to force myself not to, knowing there just isn't the utility for it for me.
I am trying to get my head around the expected keys to use on this thing. On the far left, if we put in the numpad keys like they normally go, from bottom up, it would be row 4-4-3-2-1. In the middle, there is also 5 rows, but the cluster of keys from most GMK sets skip row 3, so it would be 4-4 (arrow keys), then 2-1-1 if we put print/scroll/pause in the top row in that area.
If we set it up that way, then the 3rd and 4th rows up from the bottom would have mismatching key profiles, what do you think?
At the very top, I assume the whole very top row would be 1u keys, which would require probably a backspace keys in top left since that is the only r1 2u key, or maybe that whole top row is just intended to be artisans.
I wonder if that is why non of the pics have keys on them, I really want to buy by compulsive nature would be constantly irritated by mismatched key profiles on the same row...
Yeah, that's a good call. I looked up some of their other macro boards and the demo caps are all uniform profile on them in pictures, sounds like you are right on the money. I have GMK sets used on smaller boards with left over keys (darn GMK kitting) and immediately thought this would be a good use for them.

ZevBSome sets have novelty 1u keys for each row to fit in a macro column, like on a 65% or 75% board. Any row 3 keys from a set like that could potentially go there.
Or with SA caps, the rows go 1-1-2-3-4-3, and there are usually leftover bottom row 1u keys. Nonsense legends like Meta, Code, etc. could fill the space, and be assigned to whatever you wanted.
I wish the knobs were on the other side or the Numpad was in the middle. It would fit next to a primary board better IMO. (tho I guess this is made to sit right next to a TKL or to just be some goofy solo board)
But this thing is ridiculous and goofy and I want it, no I need it.
Now what colour do I want aside from all of them.
LifelongCabooseFor anyone seeking a true-right-handed (aka "left-handed") keyboard this is the best layout possible. I want my mouse area to start immediately to the right of the alphanumeric keys but I also want a full-sized numpad and nav cluster. The only place to put those is to the left of Alpha. I'd prefer a single keyboard with Num-Nav-Alpha already laid out for me but this is a good compromise. Except for the goddamn cable.
If you're looking for the .json file or a guide for how to use this or any other VIA-compatible product that KeebMonkey distributes, you can find them on their wiki here: http://wiki.keebmonkey.com/
anyone else run into the issue with VIA 2.0 and 3.0 not able to import .json files? I can only get this board working with 1.3.1, but that doesn't support my other boards.
Anyone had luck mapping lighting functions like brightness+/- to the dials? Lighting functions seem to work when mapped to individual keys but wont work at all on dials. Other functions like volume (or just standard keys) seem fine on them.
KeebmonkeyI appreciate the quick reply though I must be missing something. Trying to use the any key and plugging in, for example RGB_VAD or RGB_VAI doesn't seem to work any differently.
After a couple more days with no luck. I'm forced to conclude that the dials CAN NOT be used for any RGB settings which is a huge disappointment. If anyone finds a solution please let me know.
