Is this drop alive? I was able to join/commit, but this page doesn't seem to appear by default on Massdrop, not even searchable. I only found this page through an external link I found by googling 'massdrop orbiter'.

proxyproxyalphaIt's visible if you click the specific "vaping" category. But it seems that MassDrop is exiting the vaping/smoking business, according to an email they sent out. By Friday all current drops will have ended and after that, the category is gone. They got a ton of investor money and presumably they now need to stay away from anything remotely illegal-ish. Which sucks considering how much of MassDrop's success comes from that very same community. Oh well, hopefully the audiophiles will keep MassDrop afloat.
In any case, the Orbiter is a solid piece and I'd recommend it. Works decently as a sort of top-loading mini-bong for smoking too (using a metal/glass bowl you may have lying around, I use the bowl from a disassembled $10 metal pipe), as long as you're okay with one of the draw whips getting gunked up with resin instead of salvageable "honey oil" reclaim.
In any case, the Orbiter is a solid piece and I'd recommend it. Just a quick bit of personal experience after having mine in my hands for a few days..
I'd highly recommend for the part that goes into the launch box itself to use the original glass stem you get rather then the acrylic piece that comes pre-inserted into the silicone tubing of the whip.
Reasoning is that since using the acrylic piece the original glass stem no longer sits snugly and falls out if I dont physically hold it in. The other reason is I've found the actual taste gets effected when/if the acrylic heats up from a long slow draw, after switching back to the glass I actually cough less possibly implying that there's something being released from the acrylic when it gets too hot.
Overall I'm very happy with the orbiter tool, especially the quality of the glass which feels somehow superior to the 5mm thick glass in the Weedstar brand pieces I normally use. There appears to be no thin points or flaws, it's got a nice amount of weight to it and it really is an attractive desk-piece. But yeah, highly recommend using the glass stem and avoid using the acrylic one.

Nice! Got mine two days after the shipping announcement. Very nice piece, well crafted and very stable with the wood base. Its size makes it easy to pack up for travel and use on those weekends away from home. Thanks for getting this drop out so quickly!
