I would expect this to be sub $200, closer to $150.

kmccormick$150?? The cost for retailers is around $160. You do know each pack is $9.99 msrp right?

SupernautIt's actually 137 before taxes. But yeah, brand new unreleased product for essentially cost? Dumbest comment.

Meowmixingapparently you haven't shopped around. Going rate is $228 or less, including shipping.

SupernautI never pay nor care about MSRP, and why I come to Massdrop. I also did not say the price needs to be $150, I said sub $200, closer to $150. Or simpler terms some where between $150 and $200. Wholesale is $143 a box, and there is quite the markup at $230.
4% off MSRP is not much saving at all.

kmccormickWholesale isn't 143 packs are 10$ a pop so wholesale it's closer to 300$

shawnc292LOL If wholesale was $300 no way would it be sold here for $229.99. I guess Massdrop is taking a $70 loss times 700 boxes?

shawnc292There are only 24 packs in a MM2015 box. Thus MSRP of $10 a pack gives MSRP of a box of $240. Boxes of normal sets have 36 packs.

shawnc292Retail is $10 a pop / $240 box. Wholesale would be less, thus $143 is what a LGS buys it for from their vendors.

The_MikeI never said anything about the going price. I said that the cost is 137, in relation to a dumb comment about trying to get the box at sub 200 or whatever close to 150.

shawnc292I've heard that shops pay less than $140 when them buy them directly.

MeowmixingHow was my comment dumb? Current price here is more than ebay price. We get all other boxes 30% - 50% off retail, why not Modern Masters? Isn't this a group buy where significant savings is expected? I do not understand why everyone is jumping on this when it is only 4% off retail and you can find better deals else where. I understand they will not be 30 - 50% off retail due to price margin, but 4% is nothing. And you do realize that even at $199 there is $56 to be made per box? That is way more than what is being made on the other boxes sold here.

kmccormickHey Chuck, I would never risk buying MM2 on Ebay. It is completely way too easy to open the packs and reseal them. If you haven't heard about this, then check out Wizards response to the security issues on these packs.

Citizen77That's for individual booster packs. Nothing is impossible, but a fully sealed booster box is far more secure (with WOTC shrink wrap). I would trust ebay for a sealed box.

YSCCThat's true if boxes are WOTC shrink wrapped. One of my trusted local FLGS has a shrink wrapper that they use often (not to map and repack Magic boxes - just for honest reasons like demonstrations of board games). I'm a cynical guy and not very trusting of many Ebayers (through countless deceptions/purposeful misrepresentations with my purchases). If you've had better luck than me with Ebay, I'm happy for you. That being said, I'm trusting Massdrop to be honest and act with integrity with their Magic shipments.

bmoormanIf you buy at retail at a LCS, my local LCS usually sells cards less than MSRP, but almost never lass than here on Mass Drop. Trying to making the point, everyone jumped on this even though going price on ebay is now around $200. There was no savings.
