dkzzNo more misleading than flames on the side of a hot rod. Some knives here with a little bit of actual carbon fiber on the handle can go for well over $100. I don't think anyone is being fooled here.
glennacAre you saying some hotrods are actually made of flames? In the description it also states "Carbon accents" should say Carbon look accents or carbon styled accents, I bought a $50 knife here with carbon in the handle and even that stated it was a top layer of carbon over g10, things should be advertised as what they are clearly.
dkzzNo. But often what seems to be the case, isn't - like decorative flames on the side of a hot rod.
However, I agree with you that descriptions should be clearer in many cases. Yes, "carbon fiber look" or "simulated carbon fiber" would be more accurate. At the same time, if the over-lay was of a diamond-plate appearance, one wouldn't assume that the body was solid steel. It's all just decorative anyways.
glennacYes that is true that if it had diamond plate on it you wouldn't assume it was made of that but then again you wouldn't advertise it as stainless steel.
dkzz@dkzz It should more clearly state it's plastic but its is dipped to have the "carbon" look... I really like how mine looks, even though it's plastic. Probably more durable and much less expensive.
