It's been absolutely bombproof for years. Regular, simple maintenance keeps it moving (just a quick scrub of the ceramic every few months or after serious silt). It's my go to for iffy water sources (everything from scum covered desert water holes to milky glacier pools) and has never failed me. It's fast enough and the weight is offset by how well it handles the toughest of water sources.
While I've started carrying the light MSR TrailShot on fast/light day hikes with clear, known water sources, any time I head into longer, questionable land the MiniWorks comes with me. Great filter.
