In its heyday, Ice Age was a groundbreaking MTG set. Originally released in 1995, it was the first-ever set that could be played independently of other sets Read More
The reason for buying this would be for the snow-covered lands. Otherwise, all the good cards have already been reprinted and can be found at reasonable prices.
They don't have huge card prices but that do have a ton of common/uncommon for a few bucks(snow covered lands etc). It's worth buying and holding onto for a few years. I've been buying these for 50-60 (they went up $10 just under a year ago). If the shipping is cheap then it's worth it at $50 overall
I wouldn't be too worried, all is these starters have an inner and outer seal. If you shake the box and it sounds like loose cards then there's an issue. The outer wrap can be very loose at times but that's normal.
If I still was in to MTG, I would grab one. I started playing just before Ice Age (with Fallen Empires). Played the most from Mirage through Legions. Ice Age was always one of my favorites.
A fun deck to grab. Warning to value seekers, Ice Age has about 5 cards in the entire set that *might* be worth $5 - $10. I suggest grabbing one of these for nostalgia reasons and don't expect getting any return on the investment.
