Won't be buying this market(overpriced) item. MD has been overpriced on most items I've seen. They've veered from their original business model and sold out to make an extra buck.
Daniel of Vintage Magic had a BT that i mistakening thought at first he was going to eat and promote Pringles (as well as Diet Coke) https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9kQbTqXgZtg
Hey Community Members!
We have just received some very interesting news! Wizards of the Coast will now allow product to be sold outside of the domestic United States. This is a major change and we are happy to announce for the first time ever, that this Ultimate Masters Booster Box drop is now available to all Massdrop Community members!
Cheers,
DaveHoffThis is great. But I am worried about customs and import duties. I remember buying a $200 pair of headphones from massdrop a couple years ago and had to pay over $80 in duties.
Not sure why the price went up when these are still in print and can still be had for cheaper elsewhere (now).
Bring back the $255 price and it's interesting. At this price of $280, not worth it.
Agreed. Anything sub $300, you're getting a deal, mate. It'll likely never be lower again unless they do another run.. which most signs point to probably not, and if they do, it won't be big.
bennymclYup this was a good deal especially if you used that $10 coupon. I bought one on amazon for $280 a few days ago, looked again all sold out cheapest was at least $300
mountkarmaI bought a box for $270. and would have saw a profit if the goal was to sell them upon opening the box. My Demonic Tutor box topper was a nice pull.
Just when you think a “second print run” would cause prices to drop a little, they gouge it even more lol. Luckily, I was able to almost double my money on my first box and managed to pull around 340ish out the second... but that was at $250 / box with the majority of the value coming from my Dark Depths topper from the first and Bitterblossom topper from the second.
However, buying at $350 / box is dangerous. Really going to have to pull some solid stuff including one of the top 15 toppers out to make that back or see any real profit if that’s your goal. Or hold onto it sealed and hope these go upwards of $400-450 which they might depending on when the next set that is released. Just seems like a bit of a gamble considering we all know WOTC is going to continue printing masters sets even if they’re not explicitly labeled as such. It’d be foolish to assume otherwise which begs the question of how high can UMA actually go and for how long? We all recognize the value of this set currently but with the long term value existing mainly in the toppers and the sealed product, $350 again just seems a bit too risky to purchase at. My local LGS still has a couple boxes at $320 I believe and have seen a few auctions end at around $310-330 range on eBay.
TLDR:
Best advice: invest in the toppers or cards you need / want. Playing the UMA lottery with $350 boxes just seems too risky.
OR you goofballs can continue to drive this up to $500 by the end of 2019 and make me eat my words :)
