Yikes, that is a bummer. It is a good looking pen. I am often hesitant when the grip tapers down without a bit of a dip/curve near the nib. Especially with heavier pens, makes gripping, slipping and fatigue a problem for my hands. I have seen various posts from others that sanding or other means of scuffing the grip section helps with ability to grip ... Not that one should "have" to do that to a new pen, but wondered if anyone has done this with a Namisu Orion ? Thanks for the feedback @katerchen

j-e-gThe section tapering towards the nib end is insignificant, the cap shape just magnifies it. The copper version IS heavy though.

j-e-gSlipping is not really a problem with the grooves and the slight texture that is left from machining even though it is polished. Metal grip sections get a bad rep from slippery chrome coatings e.g. Lamy Studio or Faber Castell e-motion (I'm not bashing a competitor pen, I love the design and personally own two, but the grip is slippery). Metal sections aren't slippery because they're metal, it's only when they have mirror polished chrome or platings applied to them. - Adrien

NamisuThank you Adrien - With arthritis, grip is always a concern for me. I love the look of this pen, the design is excellent.... Goodness, the positive feedback from yourself and others is hard to resist. My mother was born in " the copper country" of Northern Michigan. So, I would like to have a copper pen, it will always remind me of her and one of my favorite places on earth.

j-e-gYou must be referring to the Keweenaw in da UP! Such a beautiful place, but all that remains of the copper mining are ghost towns and abandoned mining equipment. Haunting and intriguing at the same time!
