Stepper motors provide more precise control over projects because they utilize a separate pulse for each step. The NEMA-17 will only enter a continuous rotation as the digital pulses grow in frequencies Read More
I ordered the 5 pack from the bazaar, but the shipment arrived today and I only got one... Definitely didn't pay $50+ for one motor. What's the deal here? Is every motor going to be shipped to me individually?
My 2 replacement steppers arrived today. Very well packed in bubblewrap. But customdeclaration stated value of 10 steppers wich was my original order. So i had to pay 38$ in custom and postal fee to get my 2 steppers. Probably the most expensive speppers in universe! How to solve this Massdrop?

Third set of replacement motors arrived. Finally, they are packaged with each motor individually bubble wrapped. This is what it should have been like all along.
Yeesh. Hopefully they will just package the steppers correctly the first time in the next drop.
On the plus side, customer service was very professional. Initially I thought MassDrop wouldn't give me the time of day, but I am happy to admit I was wrong and they eventually did everything they could to fix the issue.
Today, my replacement motors arrived. You know, the ones where MassDrop claimed it was a one time thing. "Packaging miscommunication" they said. Well, you can probably guess that they are in bad condition. 2/4 steppers are ruined. Stepper 1 has an enormous gouge in the mounting surface, and stepper 2 is completely seized up (probably put the gouge in stepper 1). You might notice that they also did an excellent packaging job again (the packaging issue they promised they had straightened out). All that BS about how it was a "one time incident" because their new warehouse wasn't doing what they wanted was a bunch of baloni.
I've had it with MassDrop. I've been plenty patient. This is just inexcusable BS and I'm tired of dealing with MassDrop. At this point, I think I'll go out of my way to make sure everyone knows that MassDrop is full of you know what.
Just got my box, and yup - it looks like they've been "mass-dropped". I took a video of the opening - do you guys at Massdrop want me to send it so you can yell at your warehouse? If so, where?
Hi everyone,
I spoke with management we want to express our sincere apologies over this debacle. We've also talked to the warehouse to take steps to ensure this never happens again.
In terms of the order, it's difficult to know the condition of the different motors, and their varying degrees of damage. It's also terribly wasteful (and bad for the environment) to just ship everything back and forth if it's working but has a scratch on it. So we're going to trust everyone in the buy to determine the usability/condition of their own motors and propose the following:
For each motor, you can either opt to get a replacement, or a $5 refund. So if all 5 of your motors are scratched but in working order, just email us at support@massdrop.com and we'll refund you $25. If all 5 of your motors are damaged beyond repair, let us know and we'll send you 5 replacement motors. Or, any combination of the 5(or 10, 20, etc.). Thanks everyone for their patience and understanding in this matter.
Send an email to support@massdrop.com. Copy/paste this:
Hi Support,
I participated in the Nema Stepper Motor Group-Buy. ___ of my motors were damaged beyond repair, please send me replacements. ___ of them were slightly damaged but are usable, send me a $5 refund for each of them.
Thanks!
MarkMark, thank you for following up on this. As stated earlier, I won't be able to test functionality for a bit. Is there a time/qty limit on this offer? Thanks again.
Package arrived in bad shape. All motors have been pecked to death by each other, resulting all sorts of weird surface blemishes/ dents. 4/5 of the motor shafts, "catch" at certain points like the shaft or the housing is bent or out of alignment.
Also, I don't believe that this was a, "whoopsie" incident. I have bought into the MassDrop stepper motor group buys before, and both times each stepper was individually bubble wrapped with care.
This is an obvious effort to save money on shipping costs, and to be honest, it really pisses me off. Awaiting a response from Massdrop.
Printing4FunWe changed fulfillment companies (we ship from NJ now instead of California). So yes, the process/procedure has changed since the last buy.
