Am I the only one who thinks these shirts are kind of pricey? I mean it looks like it has great quality but 94 usd for one shirt?

VonGneisenauThey're made in the US and, compared to what you'd pay for one of their shirts from a retailer -- look at Unionmade, Epaulet, or any other shop stocking their shirts -- it's a pretty good deal.

VonGneisenau@Brp2 nailed it - compare this price to other similar products (not mass-produced garments like Banana Republic, J Crew, etc) and you will find that this price is very competitive. Not everyone wants to invest in higher-quality, small-manufacturer clothing, but this is a good price for those that do. FWIW, my first NESC shirt was from 4 years ago and retailed for over $200!

VonGneisenauI have quite a few NESC shirts from various sources (J. Press, Epaulet, Unionmade, local retailers, etc.) and the price here is a very good discount from what they normally go for, and staples like solid white and blue chambray rarely get marked down.

Brp2My question is what makes them so expensive? Sure they're made in the US but does that really justify the price? You can buy polo Ralph Lauren for pretty much the same price as these shirts, yet I've never heard of this brand...

VonGneisenauFirst, although I know that what makes something 'expensive' is relative, understand that these are competitively priced when compared to similar products. More expensive than mall brand, mass-produced shirts? Absolutely. But I just want to make sure we're talking about them fairly, since they're very fairly priced when compared to other products from their own line.

As to why their cost is higher than what you'd find at a mall, there are lots of reasons. First, like you mention, is country of origin. It goes without saying that making something in the USA is more expensive than doing so somewhere like East Asia. There's also the cost of using better materials - this fabric comes from a popular mill in Portugal, and the buttons are made in the USA. There's also construction quality and details - things like single-needle stitching and a split yoke are not common sights on major brand's shirts. Some people care a lot about these things - that's why they're on Massdrop - and some people don't. Either is fine, I just want to make sure everyone is informed.
