I use one in hotels. I clip it to something in the bathroom and leave it on low at night. That way when I wake up somewhere unfamiliar in the middle of the night I can differentiate the blue light coming from the bathroom and not walk out into the hallway buck naked, locking myself out. Again...
macadoodThe battery life / runtime will depend on whether the Glo-Toob is on High, Low or Strobe. Fyi, if their runtime rating adheres to ANSI FL-1 flashlight testing standards, then runtime [Hours] is defined as the amount of time, rounded to the nearest quarter hour, until output drops below 10%. I would also assume they performed their tests for each mode using a brand new alkaline battery each time to arrive at those values. So, I would guess, Low = 27 hrs, High = 5.5hrs and maybe Strobe = somewhere in between since High & Strobe has the same lumen rating but Strobe *may* draw less since it's not on constant.
In real-world situations, runtime would obviously vary depending on whether the battery is alkaline / lithium / NiMH / NiCd (assuming voltage range allows for different battery types) and whether the battery is new / old / partially depleted, ambient temperature, etc. Personally, I would say YMMV, take those numbers as a general guideline and carry spares with me.
I hope this sort of helps. Sorry for the long-winded response, I was a Flashoholic in a former life. :)

Yeah, these are great emergency lights. I use my red Lithium Glo-Toob on my bike at night and used to carry around a green and white Lithium Glo-Toob in my messenger bag. I find the green is a bit brighter (than red or blue) but still preserves your low-light / night vision.
I just received mine and they are not the Pro model as advertised. Not at all what I wanted or ordered. Would not have purchased the gen 1. Will be sending back. Change the ad. This is not the correct descriptio.
LaminatedTruckAlready did and haven’t heard back. Amazon prime has the white for $26 and all the other colors at $29.??. If you need them quickly. Sucks they didn’t get it right.
Anyone have any diving experience with these? I'd specifically like to know if the brightness can be dialed down to a dive-friendly level on the lower setting.
not really, i keep the one near my gauges on low and it doesnt mess with my night vision that much...i had a green one on low on my tank and it didnt bother me but i had some comments about me looking like the mothership coming in to take everyone away. so i swapped it with my other read one. i keep the green for my bags or inflatables. any of them on high are very visible at night in fact to conserve the battery you could keep em on low and still be visible by the boat. or from shore.
