A fantastic little light
This is with utterly no reservations the absolute best pocketable flashlight I have ever seen. Its light output is double my Jetbeam Raptor RRT26 at half the size, and equal to the far larger RRT-3. The secondary red LED is excellent to protect night-adapted vision. And as if those weren't enough, it's clippable and its slab-sided shape won't roll. It's not perfect; it takes a little while to get the hang of the switch, and it lacks Jetbeam's infinitely-adjustable brightness (which is why I'm still carrying the Raptor as well). But this is a fantastic little light. I bought three, one for myself and two as Crimbo gifts for two of my daughters, and I'm regretting not getting one for the third as well. (I didn't because she already has a decent flashlight and I didn't realize exactly how good the P18 is).

Awesome!
I purchased this light as an EDC and really just to have something more compact. I love it. I love the different dimmer modes along with the red led for preserving my night vision. 10/10 would recommend. Having said that, it is a little on the large side for EDC but I manage just fine.

Good EDC
High lumen until it gets hot. The tail switch is overly complicated and takes practice. The ability to replace the battery is a plus, but it requires a separate charger.

PHDGDoes the flashlight remember which setting it was on after you turn it off? Biggest pet peeve is to have to scroll through the functions every time.

Solid build quality.
This is an awesome light that is really bright and pretty easy to navigate when you get use to the operation.

Bright, but clumsy to use
The compact size, bright light, and selection of light levels are a plus. You can also choose to use a single rechargeable battery (included, but no charger) or 2, CR123 batteries (not included). The operation button is not your typical tail button. It’s a sliding button on the side near the tail end. There is a noticeable drag as you pushed the button. That becomes cumbersome when trying to half press the button to reduce light levels. Hold the button fully down too long and the light starts to strobe and stays in that mode until you figure out how to deactivate it (which is difficult because of the drag on the side button). At the super bright “turbo” output level, the flashlight gets really hot almost to the point of burning you. Oh, and there is a second button that activates a red LED for seeing in the dark without ruining your night vision. It also indicates the battery power level when you turn on the white light with the side slide button. Got all that? It’s all so confusing. The flashlight does come with a nice carrying pouch, but no recharger for the included rechargeable battery. That was really weird since it’s a non-standard battery size. Luckily I have a charger that works for that battery (from another flashlight).

Unintuitive
Unintuitive controls and overall weird button placement. The tail switch probably should have been extended to make it more ergonomic to use. The lack of a built in charging port feels quite outdated.

Beast of a light
Everything about this light is top notch... but just a heads up. This will require the purchase of a battery charger. the nightcore ones are pricey, but I found one on amazon for under $20.

Looked Good in Box, Performed Not So Well
So, my unit works with CR123A's, but with the included Nitecore IMR18650 or alternate IMR18650's charged by a Nitecore NEW i4 it powers off in 10 seconds which indicates this P18 is likely defective. I am in a email exchange with Nitecore Serivce, now the Drop reselle. Who knows where this will end. Go pay a bit more and buy direct from a Nitecore reseller (or Amazon) if you want this and avoid the PITA. Your time is it precious.
