Chinslapped"G-Sync Compatible" is an Nvidia-branded cert. So, yes, in order to be considered G-Sync Compatible you have to be certified and on that list.
Does that mean it won't work with VRR? No. But, he asked if it was "G-Sync Compatible" and I answered accurately.
