Good, Quality Product from Novelkeys, per usual

I got exactly what I ordered and looks better in person than it does in these pictures. Will buy again! I did get lucky, however, because I bought the 'Sun' variant, which came as advertised. The 'Speed' model did not come as advertised and I think that's something that Drop needs to take up with Novelkeys as most people expect to get exactly what they pay for. Having been in many group buys, I understand things change, but Drop serving as many customers as they do, they should consider better methods for fixing these types of issues if they want to grow their business and have happy customers.

Great Design, A Little Stinky

The design and quality is fantastic. Love the look and feel. I expect this will go great with my MiTo Laser Keycaps when they arrive. My only minor complaint was that there was an off-gassing smell for the first two weeks that was really unpleasant. But its gone now (or I can't smell it anymore haha).

A little bit pricy but a perfect companion to GMK Laser

The NovelKeys desk mats that complement various sets are a must have, this one is a very good match to GMK Laser. Not only do they enhance the looks of the desk, but they are also good at absorbing sounds and preventing them from propagating into the desk, allowing you to appreciate the clack without reverb. I don't use mice on them as I like hard surfaces, so I can't comment on this aspect.

It shouldn’t be this hard.

Product, as delivered, does not match the concept art. The concept art had double, two-toned lines. Delivered product has single lines. It’s very disappointing. I’m going to stop ordering products from drop that aren’t already in production, because bait-and-switch is sadly too common. If if I complain, they’ll probably offer a refund to return the product. When I’m waiting months for an item I’m excited about, just getting a refund still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I don’t want a refund. I want the item I ordered. Since they’re holding my money for months before delivering a subpar product, maybe I’ll start charging them interest. Maybe if they gave you a $5-$10 credit when this happens, they’d be a little more incentivized to ACTUALLY deliver on what they sell.

There isn't much you can say about a mouse mat. This one is made of nice and sturdy material. It feels nice to use, and my mouse tracks perfectly on it. My Ultralight 2 Cape Town arrives soon and will make the perfect pair. The only complaint I have with the mat is that the design is different from what is pictured. I am not sure if it is simply a defect with mine, or if it was an intentional change. I have attached images of the product photo and of mine. (Please excuse the terrible image quality.) It seems like only one layer of the design was printed. When I buy something like this, it is because I liked the design. If I figure more out about the whole design thing, I will update my review. TL;DR Not what was pictured, but still a great product.

I think the whole concept of Drop being a middle-man in these types of sales is what gets them such a bad rep. It's not Drop's responsibility to design and manufacture these mats, but it does seem like they get blamed for it. I would be upset too if I paid for something and received something else and was not compensated in some way, but it is not Drop's fault that the product wasn't the same as what was advertised. It is their fault, however, for not having good communication with the vendor and then passing that information along to the customer. There should be some sort of contract between Drop and the vendor that says this is what you are making because this is what the customers paid for. If you cannot deliver, than everyone who bought the product is offered the option of a refund. I've seen this time and time again, in such a short time period, and it doesn't seem like there's been much improvement.

Good Mat, but...

Unfortunately, the lighting on my mat simply hasn't held up. I've done everything possible to ensure the el wire would hold up. Typically, bends lead to a reduction in light. In my case, this wasn't actually the cause of death, but rather that the LEDs inside the lighting portion have simply dimmed to the point of producing almost no light whatsoever. I'm sure the version of the mat without the lighting is great. The actual material itself has held up wonderfully, and still looks as good as the day it came in.
