4 hours of battery life? Really? Am I the only one who thinks this is a big deal breaker?

Julianlopez_85They charge in their case. The 4 hours is the capacity of the earbuds, so unless you need to have them operating for 4 hours non-stop they'll last for ~16 hours.

kuriousmaxMy point exactlly...4 hours battery life at this price is a little bit on the lower side for me...

Julianlopez_85Perhaps, but for this style of earbud I think it's pretty average. They're meant to go into their case when not in use, similar to the Airpods. I think the only earbuds that do better right now include a cable with a battery/control unit.

Julianlopez_85Battery life wise do you know how these compare to other completely wireless iems? I haven't done the research. imo 4 hours isn't too bad I mean the battery can only be so big for how small they are.

kenshinescaFor truly wireless earbuds, 4 hours of continuous playing time is respectable. I have Sony's true wireless buds and consistently need to re-charge them after 2.5-3 hours. This isn't a problem almost all of the time for my specific case, as I seldom wear them for longer than that in a stretch and they recharge quickly in the case, but once or twice on longer flights they've died and I will be honest, I was pissed. I didn't expect to be as annoyed as I was.
I still use them because they're truly wireless and that is invaluable when running around an airport with laptop bag and luggage, boarding/deboarding planes, etc. but now care a wired backup for long flights, which is also annoying.
Wireless buds are getting better but my sense is that they haven't fully matured yet as a product. It seems based on reviews that it's always a compromise - battery life, sound quality, connectivity - pick two of those.
For what it's worth, the Sony's actually sound great.

kenshinescaok so let's divide the bluetooth iem group into two main groups the premium market which include bose/beoplay/beats(these are premiumly priced but does not offer premium sound) and that and the mid premium market (jaybirds/v-moda/mee-audio/plantronics). Now i can't comment on the premium market too much because i don't have the budget to purchase them but based on me reading articles on the net, the mid premium market average around 6-7 hours which i believe is reasonable. I'll give you a scenario i use to the train to commute to work and approximately takes me about 30-35 mins from leaving my house to arriving at my workplace. Now if the battery life is 4 hours, then i most likely would have to charge the iem every two days, if it increased to 6 hours then i'd charge them twice a week or so. I actually have a pair of plantronics backbeat go 2 which were great initially but i changed them for 2 reasons, the first, my DAP doesn't support DSD over bluetooth and the second is definately battery life. Now this is subjective and may not apply to you but the fact the battery life sucks means there's one more thing i need to charge, so my solution? I went back to wired iems....doesn't really bother me anymore since the SQ is is a step up.....
