Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

First thoughts were:
1. Wow. Where is the treble? There is absolutely no treble in these.
2. Why does the music sound like it is being played through a pillow? So muddy, distant, and recessed.
Totally underwhelmed by these on first listen. In fact, I can't imagine anyone would release an IEM that sounded like this at any price, let alone one that retails for $499.
I don't think there's a defect in them, as both sides sound the same. But I was surprised at how poorly these sound on first listen.
Perplexing, because there are so many very, very positive reviews of them. I'm hoping that it may be a system matching issue, and maybe that burn in is required.
Has anyone experienced their Primo8s sounding like they have absolutely no treble, and sounding super murky and distant?
I'm playing them through a Teac HA-P50 SE dac/amp, driven by a older Moto G smartphone, streaming Pandora (I know it is Pandora, but I've never heard Pandora sound this wrong out of the setup).
Fitment is good. I have big ear canals, and I always find the largest included tips seal well.
Anyone experience anything similar with super muddy, distant sound, and non-existent treble?
If your experience is still the same after testing something else than Pandora, could you please contact our customer service so we could swap the pair, even if just in case? You can call or send a contact form: https://www.optomausa.com/us/tech-support/contact-us-americas.aspx
I am deeply sorry for the inconvenience and trouble.

Yes, I'll try another source, and other amps as well.
If sound is the same, I'll contact you for a swap.
Thanks!
