Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

That said, the Primo 8 sound so good that I highly doubt that I'll be selling them! They DO seem to have more bass and benefit from running them into my FiiO E11K (A3) HP Amp and it seems to fatten them up and make them more lush sounding, but I am sick of carrying around the FiiO HP Amp AND the Sony NW-A35 Walkman and having to worry about charging and maintaining Two separate Batteries too, so I wanted something that sounds awesome straight out of the Sony NW-A35! So For now they'll be my backup pair of IEM's, and I'll be throwing my Nuforce EDC IEM's in my Recording gear bag along with my FiiO E11K (A3) HP Amp, to monitor my live recordings! Since they have dynamic Drivers and an overall good sound across all of the frequencies (and better bass) and only cost $60, I don't have to worry about damaging the Primo 8 or Westone UM Pro 30 IEM's during the rigors of live Recording and transporting them, and the EDC's sound really good and have awesome isolation and comfort, so they should be perfect for my live monitoring needs!
Also, the Primo 8 and Westone UM Pro 30's have a rather High sensitivity of 118db (Primo 8's) and 124db (UM Pro 30's) respectfully, so I don't need the FiiO HP Amp to listen to them with my Sony NW-A35 Walkman and my 24bit FLAC live Recordings😎👍😇
Sorry to derail this drop and talk about the Westone's, but if anyone out there is like me and think that the Primo 8 need a TAD more low-end, then I HIGHLY recommend trying out the Westone UM Pro 30 IEM's on sale for $250 at B+H (until March 31)! After that they go back up to $400 to my knowledge, and they have amazing detail across the whole frequency spectrum, including the bass/low-end region! And they also come with a very nice assortment of accessories, including a Pelican style mini monitor vault, to keep your Westone IEM's very well protected, as well as a huge array of silicone and foam tips!
Here's the link for anyone interested, and sorry again for derailing this drop to talk about the Westone IEM's 🎧😇
