Product Description
Named after the hearty climb to the top of Mount Jefferson—located near the NW Tops workshop in Northwestern Oregon—the Jefferson top is made on a CNC lathe and finished by hand. Perfect for the coffee table, the office, or the bar, the small and mighty Jefferson measures just three-quarters of an inch, so you can take it anywhere with ease Read More
ugh. sure, there's the occasional "tear down", but this ain't it. You do know that, whatever the point may be that I'm trying to make, you're making it for me, right?
This is nothing. You should checkout Billetspin.com. Some of them go for $300+. And they sell hundreds of them in different designs. Just as folks collects knives and pens they will never use, others collect and resell heirloom quality tops. There are al kinds of nostalgic and investment interests in this world.

To each their own man. Discussion pages on massdrop are to discuss the products, not the buyers. Am I supposed to have your permission to enjoy my collection that cost me over $2k? I've spent far more money, more regrettably on computers, cars, and motorcycles. These tops and spinners bring joy to me every single day.
Maybe it's time to start buying other material than copper? 😁😎. I do have one top in brass, but it has been left lonely on my desk at work.
I would absolutely love to see the Multnomah with a 1.25" base. "Multnomah Large", or "Multnomah 2". 👍🏻 Now that would be an amazing long spinner.
jknutThe three optic lenses sitting on leather coasters I picked up on amazon. They work ok, but wish they were more shallow. The cosmetic mirror on the lower left was the cheapest, and I think works the best. Just got it last night at the grocery store, will be getting a couple more today.
The little stand in the back is just a scrap piece of Bass Wood from a craft store. I whittled a bit on it, and twisted out a few spots to accept the top contact points.
Hey everyone! Thank you so much for all your support. We have the order ready to go for pickup tomorrow, that means that US orders should get them before Christmas!
Thanks again, we are blown away by your support!

Complete spinning top n00b here but these look really nice and cheap enough for future gifts.
My question: Do the different materials in the body affect the spin and if so how and why? Maybe the effect of density etc is actually negligible and this just an aesthetic choice?
I can see why a ceramic bearing would be better than chrome but interested in the different metals.
Cheers!
MancubOne more thing about stainless steel: it's way harder than brass or copper, so anyone working with it has to change the tooling more often to keep the tolerances within spec.
Thank you so much for taking the time to be so informative! That was exactly the kind of explanation I was hoping for. Brass seems to be the one for me at this point, although the bronze one that they had on the their website just looks oh so muted & classy too! Too much fomo here
XanthaxNot many of the Raniers out there, one of our first "Big" tops and a direct predesessor to the Astoria 👍
Have a great weekend spinners!

I'm interested in getting one of these, but I'm concerned about the packaging. NZ has pretty strict biosecurity at the border, and I'm doubtful that an item packaged in wood shavings would be allowed in. Has NW successfully sent anything to NZ before?
StitchpunkNZYes we have! We send in a cardboard box and the fill is card stock paper. Have not had a problem yet 👍
If you need custom packaging in bubble wrap we can accomidate that too 👍
...Or Jen and I might have to hand deliver....
I just wanted to encourage anyone on the fence about one of these to give one a shot. This price is great, they fit anywhere, they work well on almost every curved surface, and they perform well. I picked up some little latex finger caps to get a better grip on it and spun it over and over on a giant 8" 7x cosmetics mirror coated with FrogLube until I finally netted a 13:40 spin time with my brass Jefferson. I know that's slightly cheating but I wanted to try to push this thing. (and, yes, that spin really, really hurt my fingers)

I've finally tried Froglube and also Astroglide (the new "O oil" version). I don't see any difference with skin oil (wrt spin time), except that their behaviour is more constant than skin oil (maybe due to varying quantities of sweat in skin oil). Astroglide is more pleasant to use than Froglube (no smell), but that's just a personal opinion.
I was not very attracted by the small size of the Jefferson. But now, I want to have one of these tops!!
My Jefferson arrived yesterday. Here's a couple of updated 'collection' photos with the new family member.

Got a Midnight Black Vortex, a Copper Vorso, and an SS Mutnomah coming soon.
NarganThat's a beauty that arrived the same day the Jefferson did from Alan Haggard (AJTops.com). Right now it's competing with my Vorso as my favorite.
