Mine came today, but it is missing the owners/certificate plastic card. Anyone got that? I know tit was only Massdrop warranty and not Oris, but I think card shall be included anyhow...

BabisI think the deal is that Massdrop knows who you are and every drop that you've participated in, so you don't need to prove the warranty to them.
The warranty only covers the movement, by the way. If the crystal pops off you're up a creek. If a hand falls off, is that the movement? Only Massdrop knows.

CloacaOris plastic card is not only about the warranty - it is a proof of authenticity, and even ownership, because it contains serial number and other details (actually dealer stamp on a card is warranty certificate, not the card itself). It is an essential part of a set, at least in case of Oris brand and without that, you can easily treat a set as incomplete. Really disappointed, as it has not been mentioned in a description and Massdrop refuses to accept that mistake.

BabisI obviously don't want to buy a fake, but I buy stuff to use, not to curate and sell later in pristine condition, so I'm not that concerned about proving authenticity to others. If I can sell it for a decent price at some point, fine, but that's not the goal.
There was a rash of counterfeit IWC Portugiesers put up on Yahoo Japan Auctions a few months ago that I wrote about here elsewhere. Before they were pulled off by Yahoo after somebody clued them in, I had a good chance to examine the postings and the photos and read up on Portugieser counterfeiting. And I have to tell you, my friend, if you think that warranty cards, or manuals, or boxes or whatever prove authenticity, you are in for a shock. They counterfeit the whole kit and kaboodle for the most in-demand stuff. And for the rest, they buy the documentation. There's a thriving market on Yahoo Auctions for boxes and manuals and the like, and at least some of those will be matched with counterfeit watches, I believe.
Buying automatics with exhibition backs is one way to avoid the cheaper counterfeits, since you can see the movements.
