Keep your paws warm and dry with the Highcamp three-finger gloves from Outdoor Research. Offering the warmth of a mitt with the functionality of a glove, the Highcamps are constructed with waterproof, breathable Ventia inserts and a nylon shell Read More
Why a 3-finger glove? For those times when the weather is cold enough to need a mitten, yet you still wantthe dexterity of a glove for your index finger. Holding an ice ax. Riding a bike or snow mobile. Trigger finger for hunting. I'm guessing bow hunting too. Even backcountry skiing, when you have to adjust your bindings and take on/off your climbing skins.
DannyMilksVery true. The only catch is that they need to fit well or you lose some of the dexterity of the index. Too large and the index finger joint relocates lower closer to the palm, limiting the travel.
I understand from reading the reviews for this glove on the OR site that they may run a bit large. Anyone else try these on in real life? I have large hands, actually XL gloves in almost all cases for me. Some of the XL gloves at Home Depot are too tight for me. I'm in for XL here , but wonder if anyone else has some input here?
Great gloves. Love the liners and the design a lot. The penguin fingers are great, they give you a bit more hand functionality without removing the glove. They aren’t the absolutely warmest gloves I’ve ever owned, but my hands stay comfortable down to about -10°C. Some of that could be body physiology as well. My hands are prone to cold.
wow and I thought I invented these. I made my own 3 finger fleece gloves just a few months back and plan to take in the mountains. Double lined in the finger/mitton parts. No fancy name brand and they weigh in at 65 grams, but work perfectly for me. Not as fancy as these, but hey, the cost of around $1.75 works for me. Not sure I would have invested the bucks this brand requires for all the gizmo options. Just wanted warmth and not opposed to taking of the gloves the one time in ten days I'll need to press on a smart phone.
