I went ahead and purchased the full set of the large serving bowl, utensils, and salad bowls. Each piece has been beautifully carved, are very easy to clean and care for, and continue to maintain their quality through a number of servings and hand-washings (always HAND WASH, you'd be a fool to run these through a dishwasher). The package arrived in environmentally responsible packaging, all pieces fully accounted for and intact without any chips or defects from shipping. I enjoyed the little leaflets attached to each set of utensils and bowls that talks about the material and how it is harvested through renewable sources. A very affordable set of high quality contemporary serving ware for salads and whatever other hipster affair you wish to serve in them. I recommend applying a non-toxic penetrating oil or wax protectant every so often, perhaps every 3 months or so at the very most if one is using these serving bowls on a consistent basis to really keep the finish of the wood looking as nice as they arrived.
