Hey everyone, We have just been informed that our order of Palm 2.0 Vaporizer was shipped out yesterday. We have already alerted our warehouse staff about this shipment, so we should be able to process the bulk shipment upon arrival, and repackage them into individual orders before shipping them out to everyone very quickly. We are expecting to have these out to everyone within 24 hours after the shipment arrives. Cheers!

In the meantime, we will also be preparing our warehouse to handle the reshipment of the product to everyone as soon as the order arrives. We are just waiting for confirmation on the shipment schedule from our vendor now, we will be sure to update again here once that’s available. Cheers!

I'm not gonna pass judgment on any potential copycatting here. All I can say is two of my friends have this vape, I have hit both as well as around 5 different MFLBs. The Palm 2.0 is a piece of garbage compared to the flight box. I'm not saying MFLB is the be all end all but it is just plain superior to this. Like others have said, save your money. I've heard the Firewood is pretty awesome too but I have no personal experience with it.

Just because Massdrop has previously dropped MFLB products does not mean that they are limited to MFLB. Saying that the Palm is a "poor mans" version of an MFLB is also incredibly ignorant. I have owned a palm 2.0 for about a year now and i love the piece, and i actually chose it over an MFLB because i would rather have a plastic piece than a wooden piece, it is solely personal preference. Just because something is heavier in your hand does not mean its better made. If this were the case material science engineers wouldn't exist. Don't judge something you have never tried solely because you're an MFLB fan-boy. For people looking to purchase the piece, if youre looking to use this solely for flower i wouldn't recommend it. it's very difficult to get the herb vaporized evenly, I've found that The piece works the best by far with kief, followed closely by waxes.

gspearsEither you didn't (or can't) read or stopped right after "poor mans" as it struck a personal cord. It wasn't meant to. The Palm IS, however, based/inspired/whatever, on the MLFB regardless of how passionate you feel otherwise. It IS less expensive than the MLFB, not just here, but the advertised "retail" price. My comment was based simply that this is a less expensive MLFB-type device. It was not meant to suggest that someone is a poor man for using it. (*Note - I admit that the "retail" price is significantly closer than I originally thought making it almost a wash. )
As stated, I have used both and that for ME, the MLFB has a better hand feel and that it produced better clouds. As I don't own own, I used a friends and compared cloud production on flowers, wax and kief. We used fully charged batteries of the same brand. The vaping material was the same; ground the same at the same time (where appropriate). I wanted to create a proper test bed by removing any variables that could adversely effect the result. There are things I like about the Palm, specifically the removable screen. The Palm performed fine and did exactly what it's supposed to do. It's a fine product from my limited experience, my personal preference was simply for the MLFB.
Not really sure what the "heavier" comment is referencing. Maybe someone's post prior to mine. Just as you prefer the Palm because it's plastic, I prefer the MLFB because it isn't. (And because Magic Flight has a proven, unarguable track record in servicing their customer and Magic Flight is made in the US. I tried to find where The Palm is manufactured, but couldn't. I would challenge that if it were US made, they would tout it on their site. As far as Palm's (Vapor Blunt) service record, there are more than a few posts about battery issues and not getting true satisfaction on defective batteries. My own experience with MLFB was that the charger was defective on delivery. Even though I confirmed the issue was the charger and not the batteries by using them in another charger, MLFB sent me new batteries, a new charger and threw in a wooden stem for my trouble. Not too shabby.)
Had you actually read the post, you would see that the point has never been about Massdrop limiting handheld vape sales to Magic Flight. The point is that if Massdrop gave exclusivity (in a sense) to their "bread & butter" vendor, we as customers could (possibly) get better pricing and quicker shipments. (The last MLFB drop sold 134 units @ $79.99 + $3.42 shipping. A savings of a whopping $0.28 (+ tax) vs the next closest retailer with a significantly quicker delivery date due to the timed nature of drops. )
My passion (fan-boiness) is not for Magic-Flight. I assure you, when the next big thing is released, I'll own it. If anything, my passion is for Massdrop. The community and openness of this site reminds me of Woot in the early years, prior to being acquired by Amazon. That's high praise as Woot was a brilliant and unique idea (at the time).
So, get your wad out of your panties. If I offended you or anyone else for my choice of words, I truly apologize. No need to get all mad and start making assumptions about being a fan-boi or calling names. Can't we simply grind up a mound and appreciate each others opinions?
Peace
Point 1 refers to the comment: "I'm surprised Massdrop would agree to drop a product when it's a blatant copycat. The device directly infringes on Magic Flight's patent."
Suggests that we shouldn't launch a product that blatantly infringes on someone's patent.
In regards to the How-it-works, and FAQ, thanks for pointing that out. I'll get that on the list of things for the front-end developers to clarify. When we use the term "suggested by our community", we don't mean just through the polls (which the current language implies).
Our distributors and manufacturers are a very important part of our community since they agree to list products on the site and work with our non-standard business model. They also take the time to introduce us to their other products and to other distributors. For example EZGO Wallet Daniel brought us Kickstarter Brad (Wrenches, etc.) - (Or, people voted on the Bonavita Kettle, which dropped, and we subsequently listed the Bonavita Coffee Machine as well).
