This is a surprisingly fun game - feels like carboard Tetris, but with a two-player twist to make it competitive and mechanics sufficiently simple that you can play with your kids and still find it engaging. My objection to it is just the price. Not because I don't think the gameplay value isn't worth $25 (it totally is), but because the components don't feel to me like they're worth that much. Based on just the components, I would expect a price closer to $15. Of course, that's a stupid way to evaluate a game, right? I mean, a board game investment decision ought to be whether it can deliver multiple play sessions of reliable fun, and Patchwork definitely does that. So if you're a more rational game-buyer than I am, this is a good deal.

CincinnatuxYou're paying for the fun value and the idea behind it. Though I do agree there's a missed opportunity with buttons; should've used real buttons, they aren't expensive and would've added a lot of perceived value. Game's great though. US$25 isn't much of a discount however...

ysleeWhenever I'm in a thrift store, I look for old buttons and have managed to accumulate plenty for the game. It is a nice addition!
