When you adventure out into the world, the last thing you want to do is fumble around with your camera. Sure, you could get a carry bag and sling it over your shoulder or duct tape it to your chest, but that leaves you exposed when that perfect moment pops up Read More
While the Strap Pack only saves something like $3, the Pro package is where the savings come in. The Pro Pack saves $24. If you just want the P.O.V. kit, it saves $10.
Edit: actually, looking again, does this drop not come with the Pro Pad? If it doesn't, you're actually losing $6 by buying this drop if you want the pro pad as well. Why would I buy this when for $6 more on peak design's site I can get the Pro Pad as well?
"PRO Pack" (C+L+C Pack with PROpad): Save $15.67 - (10.5%)
Actually peak design regularly have -10% coupons (google it) so you really don't save anything and you get much slower shipping times.
bo.luOh, I know. There are several 10% off coupons but I decided not to post them. This is still more than 10% and it's also the reason I didn't get the PROpad.
So the peak design arca plate included with the pro bundle is compatible with really right stuff lever release clamps?
Really looking forward to this drop. The capture pro is a known quantity at this point, and although I haven't read much about the strap yet, it looks great - I like that you can quickly switch from a traditional configuration to sling style by making use of the extra lugs included - all that with a single strap. Should make my switching between a 70-200 f/2.8/everything else a more ergonomic process - my current solution (traditional straps on all camera bodies, black rapid sling on the 70-200 f/2.8) could use some streamlining/innovation - because as soon as I start using the 70-200, the body straps are in the way.
The Capture P.O.V. kit is worth it, to purchase off of Massdrop.
The "Capture PRO + Leash + Cuff - XXXXplate" is not worth it to purchase off of Massdrop, given the extra cost of shipping (to Canada). It is not that much cheaper. In fact, it is cheaper to purchase directly off of Peak Designs if you can find and use a 10% referral/promo code. Plus, if you purchase directly off of Peak Designs, you will get the PROplate, whereas you get the ARCA, DUO, and MICRO on Massdrop.
Just my two cents. If you don't mind the minor price difference, by all means, purchase off of Massdrop and support them.
hang on. IF this CapturePRO Camera Clip (which is kind of Mk II) is going to be upgraded soon, according to Peak Design - "CapturePRO will soon boast a new quick-release plate, one that we call the Pro Plate. The Pro Plate will be 4-way ARCA compatible, but also have adapters that allow it to fit in most Manfrotto RC-2 tripod heads. It features a new low profile design, and 4 strap loops that are specially positioned for our Anchor Link connectors."
Does it really make much sense to go for Mk II at this price range (even with this discount) if for $150 we can get Slide + Clutch + CapturePRO Mk III?
gamaHmm, I don't have Manfrotto Tripod so the new Plate doesn't seem to add any value to me other than it looks good. The clutch, however, looks much more comfortable than the current cuff. Decision.. decision..
Reading all these comments, I'm really confused. I have no idea what I'm actually getting now or if I saved any money at all. I guess I'll sort it out after the fact and if it was a deal, I'll do more with Massdrop. If not, the lesson is learned the hard way and I'll just avoid future deals.
K.TutIf you look at my last post I calculated the savings for each option. The original prices they had here were either hardly savings, or not savings at all. When a few members noticed this, Massdrop renegotiated prices with Peak Design and there are some significant savings now.
For those selecting the "Pro Pack", is there an option in checkout to select the DUALPlate or MICROPlate instead of the ARCAPlate? I didn't see one so I held off ordering. Those checkout options are provided by the manufacturer at no additional cost.
The DUALPlate is compatible with Bogen/Manfrotto tripods which may be helpful for anyone using that brand of tripod, and the MICROPlate looks like it would be a nice fit for smaller cameras.
This may be helpful to anyone deciding among plate options:

JR27Thanks for your feedback, I spoke with the Peak Design team and they also want to offer the other plate options. If you already bought the ARCAplate and want one of the other options, just go to "My Transactions" and make the change. If you haven't bought anything yet, just go to the checkout page and select the desired plate.
If you don't know which one to get, Peak Design has a nice articles on the differences: http://support.peakdesignltd.com/hc/en-us/articles/201291383-Choosing-a-quick-release-plate-for-Capture

looks pretty awesome. How easy is it to take off? Most of the clips show the camera being put onto the clip, but I haven't one where it is being taken off.
Also, how is it with the gopro on the backpack strap? does it slide down the strap?
macjakjakIt's pretty easy, it's the red button and it can be unclipped with one hand. As for the Go Pro attachment, it is sandwiched between two plates and can be tightened with two thumb screws so it depends on how tightly you screw the mounting plates together and if you want it to slide or not. Here it is in action getting unclipped:
