I don't understand why there is so much hatred toward this drop. Yes Pebble is closing, but according to this post: https://blog.getpebble.com/2016/12/07/fitbit/ The watch is still going to be operational and for the now recently unlocked price of just over $100, it's a good deal. The community support, http://rebble.io/ already has some working preview apps.
isewiseWhile I've switched to an Apple Watch, that switch cost close to 600AUD. It's great to see the Pebble live on. 120USD is a great price. You get a device that still works, around 7 days of battery and custom watch face support. Although no warranty is a concern as screen glitches have always been an issue. Youtube has a few repair guides though.

craingerI'm glad to see someone else who enjoyed the Pebble as much as I am. Though my warranty might be gone, its also worth noting that you can purchase one from Amazon if you buy directly from them, sure it'll cost more in the end but if thats what people are worried about, there is a solution. How is the Apply Watch by the way? Do you use it with an iDevice or does it work well with non-apple phones?
gameusI'm using it with an iPhone 7 Plus. Thanks to work and family I've been captured into Apple ecosystem. While I miss the OG Pebbles battery life, custom watch faces, simple build and 22mm watch straps that are compatible with my Seiko. The Apple Watch is a nicer package overall. Thanks mostly to a larger app store, better fitness tracking and Siri. It also feels like a good watch. Then again my Pebble watch was 80AUD, my series 2 42mm Nike Apple Watch was 579AUD. I then went crazy with a Belkin Valet to make the daily charging a bit easier. Samsungs smart watches look pretty good. I've only played with the Gear S3 at trade shows, so can't comment on them too much.
