Everybody is allowed to speak openly here because it's Massdrop. That being said, not participating in the drop speaks volumes. On the other hand if someone wants to join this drop they shouldn't feel bad about doing it. Peace, Love and great products at great prices!

an individual that's in the market for an item of this exquisite quality would not be on a site like Massdrop to "save a few bucks" in my opinion. also would that person wait until APRIL for it to ship as well? wouldn't they have simply went to the official site and purchase the item outright if they really wanted it?

Phoenician Grinders offer more than just a price tag ......"Phoenician Engineering is proud to offer our Elite Series Grinders as these medical devices are the epitome of grinding devices sourced from 304 Stainless Steel and Type II Titanium. These materials are far superior and more costly than Phoenician’s aluminum counterpart and will ultimately last the user their entire life. Due to the tooling, and other machining implications imposed by these material types, these grinders take a substantial amount of time to complete to our standards of perfection. Our Stainless Steel options start at $2,000.00 and Titanium at $4,000.00. Included in this pricing we offer custom 24K Gold, Silver, or Copper plating on any Elite Series Grinder. These plating options are also available on all our aluminum grinders. Pricing for these plating options on aluminum starts at $600.00. "

JaysunSo...the description actually says that the body itself is just a fancy aircraft aluminum...only the screen is stainless...and nowhere is it mentioned that any part of the actual grinder utilizes titanium...looks like these are just well designed aluminum grinders with a $300-$400 plating job....just sayin'. The design looks really well done though, so I'd definitely go for the $70 one and skip the plating...if I needed a grinder.

That's what you thought, but to Massdrop this site is actually about profit, and they don't make much profit on legitimate bang-for-your-buck deals. Now, if they could just sell 10 grinders making, say, $200 profit each, there's an easy 2 grand. Backfired in this case, but it was worth a shot!
For now they'll have to stick with the meager 2-digit profits on titanium toothpicks and pieces of stained wood, which have worked. According to wikipedia, Massdrop has $8M funding and over 1M active users. It looks like they're still testing the waters with regards to how luxurious of items they can push on their users, but they'll need to start generating profit sometime.

Lol for this money I'd rather buy actual gold bars. At least then if the value of gold goes up I'm making a profit.

Who at Massdrop thought that this would be a good idea? This is semi-comical, almost insulting, even if it's 50% off. I'll stick with my fingers for this price.
