yessamgergThanks for the heads up. I was tempted to buy this but I won't after reading the reviews. Lots of units seem to break after 1-2 years. Sure, you may get a steal at $80 and have no issues at all or on the contrary, get a piece of junk and a big headache.
yessamgergMine worked really well for almost 5 years. Last week it just crapped out. It turns on with a pop but doesn't make sound. I've tried digital/aux/bluetooth, but no sound comes out. I called Pioneer to ask if there was a factory reset method, but there isn't. I tried all of the combinations of unplugging, turning on, turning off. The bluetooth connects and I can even control my iPhone from the bar. No sound still. So now it's in pieces because I'm going to use the components to make a boombox for the garage. I just need to get an amp that can drive all the speakers and sub. It was a good sound bar for a long time, but there is some weak link inside.
Carter05True. But others are quite recent, from people who bought this unit 1 or 2 years ago. Hard to tell if realiability has improved until more time has passed. Anyway, at this price it's a calculated risk.
infernophilGone through 2 myself.
I own the SP-SB03 sound base version, and that one works like a champ to this day.
I use it as a computer speaker with a monitor plopped up on top of it.
I want to know if these being sold are refurbs as most of them sold these days are.
yessamgergDo not buy this !!!!! I had it for about 1 years. Bluetooth is only 2.4 and isn't reliable. After a while it would Pop when turned on, if it turned on at all. Found a tutuorail and my nice Brother in law replaced a capacitor which was a common failure. Still pops on start up and no connection.
Put it in the trash but am stuck with a useless wireless subwoofer...
infernophilAnd now the pieces live in my garage in their new enclosure. Found a really nice 2.1 channel Bluetooth 4.0 amp with waaaaay more power than I need. This thing bumps.
BReal38I bought a Bluetooth amp off eBay (100W + 50W for the sub). Used the drivers (speakers) in a custom enclosure made from MDF. I sized each enclosure to match the original dimensions. It works great for a garage gym setup.
