Product Description
Utilizing electro-capacitive key switches, the Plum84 combines the silent operation of a rubber dome keyboard with the reliability and tactility of a mechanical keyboard. Plus, these unique switches are compatible with Cherry MX-style keycaps Read More
I was delighted to find my Plum84 arrived several days earlier than expected. The lighting features are great and look nice. The LED's are also very bright, and they even have the Ducky Raindrops style effect. While not as feature packed as a Ducky keyboard, there are still some great settings.
Coming from Cherry and Gateron switches, these 35g electro-capacitive switches are very different. They do feel a little like a rubber dome, but do not feel mushy at all. So these are definitely an improvement over rubber domes. 35g feels very light and the switches slide down very smoothly. No complaints here.
When the board first arrived and I plugged it in, the FN+NumLock was on and several keys were only outputting numbers. But after pressing FN+NumLock the keyboard began to function as normal.
Highly recommending this keyboard for anyone on the fence. Thanks MD!
Thanks all for those thoughts... Seems worth a go, especially at this price.
I've loved Topre, but ended up moving off all of them due to the price. Just felt like too much money all the time, so something like this Plum might be perfect!
It is not mentioned in the description, but I have this board and it is fully programmable. Here is a link to the software (http://randombits.me/?p=155) its KB84
BrewJutsuAwesome. That was my first question and I'm glad I went to the first page of discussion to find it out. On the first comment no less. =) At first I thought it was only one of the rainbow type lighting. Pretty good value if it's fully programmable.
I do have this one too, but without rgb. I like it although, the feel of typing is pleasing, even though for someone typing 55g topre all day long i need some time to adjust.
Someone who might be a lover of lighter switches, don't let it pass :)
Some pictures of the inside, to open it up is a bitch, one of the hardest ones i've had so far, they really don't want you do to that!

Have a nice day.
Sorry for bad layout/format. This discussion editor is driving me nuts, sometimes having his own will :(

Genuine Topre happen to have a spring underneath the spacebar, to make it heavier, avoiding accidental keypress.
Genuine and clones force is coming from the domes!
Additional springs are just a way to give users an option to fool around with different weighting/force and might be used being cheaper than produce different dometypes, not knowing which option potential buyers might take, leaving the company with a lot "unwanted" variants.
What's the point of having Cherry MX compatible sliders if you're going to have a nonstandard spacebar? And as far as nonstandard spacebars go, why 5.5u!?
Such a strange design choice.
Keeb came in from the last drop. It feels like butter to type on. Glad I didn't listen to all the people crying about 35g being too light, can type on this for hours on end without any fatigue. Pce out
AudriIt depends on what you like I own a Plum 84 35g and a Plum 75 45g. Both are great. If you like Cherry MX reds, then you will love the even smoother cloud of boobs on the Plum 84.
