Not sure if I understand the wiring correctly. For mini XLR connectors on Audeze, there are 4 pins, meaning each cup requires 4 wires. The Exo provides 2 wires/cup, and X6 series 3 wires/cup. How could you properly wire all pins with fewer than 4 wires?

givoltageYou only need two, not sure how they are wired to the pins but two wires per driver is enough.

eliraMy Audeze LCD-XC uses 4 pins to drive each driver. All 4 pins are useful! If you wire only two pins it will make a sound but the other two pins are essential to ensure the headphones work as designed and perform at their best.

givoltageIt’s possible that all four pins are connected to something but you only need two wires. If you think about it if you are using a single ended connection you are only using 3 connections: left, right and ground. Each driver need its hot wire (right or left) and ground. In a balanced connection you only need Right+ and Right- for the right driver, even if you had four cables those will be connected to the same place the first two are connected.

eliraI don't think the 4 pins for each Audeze cup only serve as + and - connections in which case 2 of the 4 pins are redundant.

givoltageEither are redundant or are disconnected, and according to this image I found seems like they are just redundant. Those connectors weren't made for headphones, I think Audeze uses them just for convenience.

eliraYou have a good point there. It is entirely possible, although for convenience Audeze could have simply chosen something with 2 pins, such as 2.5 mm TRS... not totally convinced if the diagram is correct or is interpreted as intended. In the balanced mini-XLR diagram, two black pins (1, 4) could mean + and -, and the other two ground. Ground in general is not the same as the negative connection, but I don't know where ground wires would go... The full 4-pin XLR doesn't have a ground. I guess there's no way of finding out besides cutting open the factory cable and see.
