Background: Previous monitor SyncMaster 2443BWT (ancient by today's standards). I ordered this unit based on the claims made on the Drop page specifically I was looking for a 2k+ 144hz monitor that is at least gsync compatible. HDR was a nice bonus, but personally don't care for it. What I received is a monitor that is capable of 4k 144hz that has HDR when it feels like according to windows and absolutley no mention of FreeSync/G-Sync in both the monitor's menus, or the Nvidia control panel (latest driver used: 430.64 Card: RTX 2080) . Had they reduced the price by $100 and not advertised the unit as G-Sync compatible I would not have any issues, and probably would've purchased it anyway and honestly feel that this could have been 4+ star product. I have made an attempt to contact Principle Matter through their website's Contact Us section with no response after 4 days. If you are looking into monitor's be aware that I may have received a defective unit, but customer support is not high on their priority list as seen in the discussions section of this product page and my personal experience.

Sent an email to helpdesk@massdrop.com and explained how the unit is undamaged but not as advertised(which massdrop/drop says they will take back as a result). Someone will in turn send you a rma strip and all that. Idk where you are, but for me, they told me to take into a UPS center for return. Also to email them when you take it so they know when to expect it. I was told either a refund or replacement could be given as per requested by the shipper( us).
Volk.VolkHello, We value your feedback. Principle Matter products has lots room to improve. Thank you for your support anyhow. We omitted that there was compatibility issue earlier, since there were two G-Sync updates after the PM27UHR launched in January. Now the compatibility issue was fixed with a new updated firmware, which we post a download link and instruction on 6/4. Here is the link for updated firmware and install instruction, in case you didn’t see it https://drive.google.com/open?id=19KIHcEl1LnPHyHKxTAOyMSAj18fwPvpA   Customer Service is our high priority. Since you did not experience, we do apologize for not administrate enough attention. This is a typical for improvement. However, thank you again for supporting Principle Matter. For any issue you may email us directly at theprinciplematter@gmail.com Thank you.

There’s a lot to unpack with this. If you look at the discussions tab, you’ll see all of the following I write by me and others asking questions and partially getting answers. So, to begin: Using DisplayPort, you can do 1080p at 60 up to 144hrz, but everything in between your stuck at 60. HDMI is same. Now if you go for 4k, using TWO DP cables, you can get 60, 120 or 144hrz refresh, but THAT STILL DOESN'T OPERATE 1440p at 144hrz or less. Still stuck at 60. The menu is slow as be all. The remote is also not worth the headache. HDR is as everything else is, modest but not great. Panel is great. Bright and color reproduction is better than TN for sure. But with the latest Nvidia drivers, (may 9th) checking all settings on the osd menu and more, g sync does not appear as an option. As I've said in the discussions tab, I've no AMD cards to test if it has Freesync. It's a great 4k 144 hrz monitor or 1080p (if your rig can handle 4k 144hrz and all). But if that's it, it is NOT WORTH 700 DOLLARS. And the return policy by Drop.com leaves much to be desired. Think, very very very hard about your purchase, and wait for a response from Principle Matter before purchasing. Because unless there is something we are not aware of, the 7 of us who bought a panel, we have been lied to. According to reddit, the other PM monitor that was 32 inches 165 hrz and 1440p, is now working with G Sync, even though that was never advertised to work in the first place. So maybe it’s a matter of time before the buyer sees this 27in monitor do the same? I’m leaning more towards the 32in model just got lucky with their programmers making g sync work. We all gave PM days to respond to questions, and they have even began selling this product again, answering new buyer questions, but leaving our other “already purchased buyer” questions blank. They’ve had plenty of time to give us solutions to settle our frustration.    The panel works nice, but isn’t working as advertised nor worth 700 dollars. Edit: forgot to add, the box was not a very flashy one(this, honestly, I can forgive as PM has said they're a new company). The manual, however, had many a grammar hiccup. This may not be an formally English speaking company and, again, not a big deal. Whether the manual or responses on Drop. Com are in good English doesn't make or break the product. But if that matters to you, that's also something to add to the review. Another thing to add, is the Vesa Mounting. Just received a desk arm today, and no matter which set of screws you use( the amazon basics one came with two different kinds. ) This monitor will never be flush with your stand or arm. It will always seem to have play in the back. Very poor mounting.

KirisutekarlIt is possible to create more profiles for the display. I am currently 1440p 144hz for games https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-Custom-Resolution-Utility-CRU In regards to free sync, after updating the firmware I am only able to enable it if I am only using 1 display port cable. So no 4k144hz freesync

Very poor brightness balance and cannot get 144hz to work at all.
