Alright I'm sick of these "gaming" chairs popping up everywhere. I am a physiotherapist, and I'm telling you without any shadow of a doubt, if you care about your back, and you're gonna drop a heavy buck on a chair (as you should, if you're already sitting hours in front of the computer, better be with a normal posture), please, PLEASE - Get a good, ergonomic one. Drop the "gaming" thing. Your spine doesn't care about gaming, it cares to have support because we can't hold our muscles upright and neutral for so long. Not saying that some chairs are a cause for pain, but sitting for long hours is, and if one can improve it by just a little, he should. Just my two cents.

EorlingasGreat point. Do you have any brands/makes you recommend? I have a "gaming" chair and got rid of it for all of the reasons you just pointed out.

StoaksNo. I am first and foremost not recommending anything at all. Simple reason would be that even the highest priced chairs out there, fit a certain body schematic that the company works according to. Yet, my body isn't your body, your body isn't your wife's body and her's isn't her friend's. We're all built the same, yes, but differences in pain areas, in "disturbances", in muscle tones, and in alot of other things that I won't get into. In short, what fits me won't necessarily fit you. Personally I recommend first of all going for the oldschool way - take some office chair, and play around with a (a bit stiff) pillow or a big folded towel, as lumber support. Think that you want your lower back to be "pushed" inwards a bit to relieve lower vertebrea and hip pressure while seating. Second recommendation I can tell you to just test chairs yourself. Go to the shop, or warehouse or whatever, and sit on them. See how it feels. If there's a period of time you can use at home and then return if it doesn't feel right after hours of working on it - Even better. In these kind of stuff it's mostly trial and error.

EorlingasFair enough. So this chair may in fact work for some- the issue being you can't try it out. Got it. I need to go test drive chairs!
Thanks!

Eorlingas Alright I’m sick and tired of these “physiotherapists” popping up everywhere a new gaming chair drops preaching what 99% of knowledgeable and educated people already know. These so called “ physiotherapist “ can’t refrain from throwing their own righteous remarks rehashing what we as consumers have known for years. Dude, we just want a cool looking chair to match our cool looking setup. Who cares if I’m walking with a cane after using this super awesome looking chair with my dope gaming set-up in 10 years! /sarcasm
