If only I could afford another one bought gmk laser , SA Carbon and the MD x Mat3o cap which makes me think if i should get another board. I only want thr deluxe case for this though :(
Seriously ... what is wrong with you guys !?
You finally come up with an International/NORDE kit for GMK Carbon, people are BEGGING for additional base kits because they missed the original drop due to missing NORDE support and now you rub it into everyone's face that you have GMK Carbon base kits left over to sell them with this keyboard?
You didn't insult me. I respect where you're coming from and we all lose our tempers. I just want to make sure great points like what you brought up do not get dismissed because of how you say things. I also don't want other people to join in on the negativity making things worse and turning people off to the great community we have here.
Keep being yourself and providing MD with feedback. Next time, before you hit submit read it to yourself as if you were the one getting the feedback and see if its something you would be good with.
I finally finished shooting the board I used to make the programming guide for you guys. I must say this is an absolutely gorgeous board, and I think everyone will be quite pleased with it. Build time took approx. an hour (I don't have switch LEDs), and was quite easy. Make sure to pay attention to your layout when doing the build, and only put stabilizers where you need them! I was about to zone out and go into soldering-mode when I realized I had a stabilizer on my right shift, which I planned on using as a split shift for the arrows. That would be stupid =P
Quality is great, programming is quite easy, and lots of keycaps sets coming out these days support most layouts perfectly! I plan on making my pop build my second one later in the month (his first build) when I see him, so I'll probably document that with some pics to see A) how easy it will be for first time builders and B) shits n giggles, because I know it will be rather entertaining.
Just a warning to all.
I‘ve never received a red scarf product that didn’t have bad anodization. I purchased the 68% and this one. They both had defects, one had permanent black dots on red anode. The other had splotchy anode. I felt like the quality control was overlooked.
Thankfully Massdrop allowed me to return it.
Please use caution with this drop. My two cents on it.
SlayerageI have ordered 3 redscarf ll's from massdrop and all 3 came with perfect anno. The only issue i ever had was one came with a shattered acrylic bottom plate which I was sent a replacement pretty quickly.
For anyone that is tired of Massdrop dragging their feet on the plate, here's a drawing of the correct missing cutout. The promo pictures seem to include a spot for a longer spacebar stab, but If you just want to put a switch there, this will do. Any machine shop should be able to use this to cut the plate, or you can use it to cut it yourself. A drill and small file are enough to get the job done, with regular measurements with a pair of calipers.
Hey All. I was able to finish my board last weekend and I am very happy with the results. This was my first attempt at building a mechanical keyboard so it was a ride of emotions - anticipation, guilt (how much it all cost), fear (I would screw it up), and happiness that it turned out better than I expected.
A few things I am not sure of which I hope the more experienced among you may be able to help me out with.
- I received an LED strip with the board, but there are LED's on the bottom of the PCB that light up the bottom of the keyboard fine. What would I do with this strip then?
- If I would like indicators for the CAPS lock or NUM-LOCK, would it be as easy as installing LED's on the PCB?
PaprikaI ended up purchasing a the iFixit Pro Toolkit which has the hex screw needed. It is around $60 but i figured it will be good investment for all my projects in the future.
Hey everyone, wanted to shed light on the GMK Carbon set being offered as an add-on with this keyboard.
- We had 25 extra GMK Carbon ordered from the last drop for possible CS issues.
- It was offered because keycaps for custom keyboards are hard to find and we thought the community would appreciate having the chance to grab a cool keycap set with their custom keyboard. Especially since we photographed the keyboard kit with the set.
- These were not made available in the GMK add-on drop because of the low quantity. If the international kit was only 25 units away from tipping we would order the extras to push it over.
- We cannot rerun the GMK Carbon set right away because that would be unfair to other designers that have approached us with their sets. GMK Carbon - like Carbon SA will definitely return - we want people to get a chance to get what they missed.
Hope this helps clear up most of the concerns and apologize for the confusion.
Man, that grey is really just silver with a slight blue tint to it.
I'd love to mix it up away from the two black cases I have coming my way, but I'm not really feeling the need for a baby blue keyboard... :P
Me- Ok time to save up for the holidays
Massdrop - LOOK! Here's the board you've been wanting for over a year and WAY out of your budget!
Me - ((crying))
That's true, but this is different. This is sets being in the description, like DSA Infinity or DSA Hana, but not available to buy at all. The dropdown box for ordering didn't include them either as available or as sold out.
BaconheartThose sets where provided just they sold out in seconds. That was just setup differently I think they where removed as soon as stock ran out.
