With a hefty 3.3-ounce body made from solid brass, this new version of the ReyLight AA flashlight makes itself known in the hand. Grooves around the midsection create a secure hold in slippery conditions Read More
I was advised on March 28th that the shipping was delayed but no information since then and no estimated date of shipping. Almost a month delay now, some update would be welcome...
Need some help here - didn't expect a "kit" project for a flashlight. Received mine today, unscrewed the cap and all of the components below popped out. No idea what the correct order is. Plus, the clip on the cap is a HORRIBLE design. I had to bend it back just to be able to attempt to screw the cap back on.
Well today the flashlight is headed to the trash. Doing a regular battery replacement I had TWO Mexican Jumping Beane vents with the overly complicated switch assembly. Resulted in 25+ minutes of wasted time and the brass washed disappearing somewhere on in the room. Hate to leave a 1 star review but honestly I'd give it 0 if possible. The design of this light makes it useless anywhere but in an indoor, office space - but even then you're prone to what happened to me. I couldn't imagine using this outdoors (or God forbid in a situation where it's really needed) and have to open up that Pandora's box of a switch.
Is this drop (as of Jan 6, 2020) the Nichia LED version or the CREE?
Email from Drop indicated Nichia but clicking on the “buy” link led me to ad for the XPL LED version..
What gives??
Thank you so much for replying back to me!
Unfortunately, I was really interested in the Nichia LED with its awesome color rendering, (which my email indicated that it was ), but the Drop website stated it was an XPL .
Thanks again so much for clearing it up!
RHPICAYUNEThe Nichia has run out of stock. If you insist on the Nichia. pls email me, rey@reylight.net
I can swap LED for your order. I got the 219B SW45K R9080 LED.
WTF, I had ordered one in March, which I received. I then ordered another one in the subsequent drop, which was listed for a while under my active transaction but suddenly it had disappeared with no communication from MD. It is listed under my cancelled transactions although I did not cancel it (intended to be a birthday present). I now need to find out if I was charged since I was previously notified that order was placed with the vendor (which is inconsisten with a cancelled order). I am getting very concerned with M.D. as I have two different items for which I was charged that however never appeared in my transaction list and that I never ordered. Am I the only one with problems?
Update: checked my credit card statement. MD first deducted 40 bucks (seems to me that that implies a purchase (consistent with a order placed with vendor) but then refunded the money. Can anybody explain this to me? I think I'll inquire with the source.
Desastor"16 purchasers needed"
As with a few other listings here on MD, some require a certain number of participants for the drop to complete. There use to be all kinds of these "## purchasers needed" drops back in the day. Not so many any more so when a drop ends with not enough participants it can be a bit surprising. Happened to me as well about 9 months ago, also with a flashlight.
Also, at some point you should get an email stating the drop ended without enough participants joining. I did.
glennacThanks. But, my records showed Order placed with vendor and then it was cancelled. Moreover, we dont get charged prior to order placement. I appreciate your insight, but the issue you described was not applicable in my case
I loved this light, but sadly mine died during a camping trip. It may have had something to do with being submerged, but anyway I took the switch apart later and put it back together and it would sometimes turn on but usually nothing. I don't think anything is wrong with the emitter. I'll try switch disassembly/reassembly again to make sure I didn't put the spring in backwards or something, otherwise I'll see if I can get it sent in for repair.
