Hey everyone - WOW! These are pretty popular, so we got in touch with Rey and he was able to reserve 20 more units for this drop. @Connormgs and about 15 more people can get in on this before it ends, probably later tonight judging from the sales so far. Thanks for making it a huge success, we love working with Rey and he's a big supporter of the community who appreciates your support as well!
Not hard at all. I annodized with 9 volt batteries. I annoed the head and tail cap then sanded down. The anno stayed in the recessed grooves where the sandpaper couldn't hit. Really the hardest part was sanding down the main tube to remove the bead blast. I did it all by hand, 1200 - 1500 grit sandpaper. Probably took the better part of an hour total.
NOTE: Please use Eneloop or equivalent battery. IMR14500 from Efest or Windyfire or AW, These all work fine.
Some protected 14500 batteries might not work perfectly, a little too long, there will be a small gap between the head and tube.
Such as, Nitecore and Olight 14500. They add the protection board at positive pole.
Xtar 14500 is shorter, they have protection board at negative pole and it works fine.
Have extened 2mm of tube length in next batch.
BTY, I have trits, 6$/pc. paypal/email: 395090663@qq.com
I just recieved the flashlight! These are my first impressions:
TBH, I thought it would be a little bigger (forgot to look at the dimensions), but I'm loving the small form factor.
The flashlight feels very comfortable and fits in your hand nicely. Really good maneuverability.
Build quality is as expected, very nicely done. From the polish to machining, you can tell that care went into
making this product. Love the attention to detail.
The switch is a little stiff, which is good, since there is no way it can be turned on in your pocket or wherever by accident.
It actually takes a little force to turn on.
Thanks Massdrop and Reylight for dropping an awesome product at an affordable price!
SegaGen3sis I got mine as well, pretty happy with what I got. First impression, it felt heavier than expected being titanium and all. Maybe it's got to do with it being grade 2 or thickness of the material used. Great build quality for sure.
GES11TI'm quite content with what I recieved. A very nice flashlight indeed. Haven't had the chance of using a 14500 battery as of yet but will snag one soon enough. Led is nice with AA batteries. Using a 14500 at 390 lumens is crazy for a small light like this lmfao.
Persoanlly, I never minded a heavier product. If it feels too light it feels cheap, as least for me; well it depends on the actually material and such, but yeah.
I was about to purchase it and then noticed the shipping cost...this is borderline offensive, I hate being taken for a ride. There are no justification and you are misleading people with a retail price of 69$ when in fact it is much higher. No deal here
I noticed in one of the dark photos, the lip of the reflector is glowing. is that 'glow in the dark' material or tritium, and is it included on the drop, or do you have to go source your own...?
V3 will be coming soon. With some upgrades.
1. Max 473 lumens with 14500. better runtime.
2. Offer 50pcs AA extension tubes. (a different tube design)
3. 2.6V LVP for Li-ion.
4. Temp step down.
5. New clip design.
6. Memory/Moon by default selectable by 8 clicks.
Mark M.It is a bit confusing. One picture shows slots for seven in the back (six around the tail, one in the button). But, another shows even more drilled holes, giving you thirteen (twelve around the tail, one in the button). Then, of course, there's the slots around the head. If it's thirteen in the back, I think you'll end up paying more in trit than the flashlight will cost you. Still, I love the way my version 1 looks with all the trit in it.
Edit: Well, I'm a dipshit. Either I missed the "6 tritium slot tail included, 12 slot optional (not included)", or it got changed after I posted this.
@WWEFANS Can you add a washer while still having the pocket clip in, or can you only have one or the other? Also, any news on the Triple?
For anyone that hasn't tried a Reylight, I love them. My daily carry is either the brass Pineapple, or the version 1 Ti Lan. I might have to finally upgrade just for the new features.
