Where's my dot grid? I don't buy Rhodias without the dot grid.

What is the purpose of webnotebooks? What makes them better than standard ones?

LaeficaBasically: hard cover, elastic closure, inner pocket, ribbon bookmark, and the pages are sewn together and "bound in signatures" so they lay (closer to) flat and won't fall out nearly as easily as a glue- or staple-pad (none of the images on massdrop show it very well; there's one here: http://www.shopwritersbloc.com/rhodia-webnotebook--medium.html). The closure, inner pocket, and hard cover are, imho, quite nice for traveling. The notebook also looks quite nice, if that matters.
In other words, it's Rhodia's knock-off of the Moleskine, except that, being Rhodia, it's better in every way, from paper to manufacturing quality; especially paper. Moleskines have notoriously variable paper quality for such a "premium" brand, to the point of sometimes being unusable with fountain pens.
$20 is really not a bad price for this notebook (you can find slightly better prices, but not reliably for the colors you may want). You do get what you pay for. On the other hand, if you're happy with a "standard" notebook, you may as well just stick with that. I'm a pen-and-paper fetishist, and $20 even makes me cringe a bit. However, if you like Rhodia paper and want a stitched notebook, this is by far the easiest way to do it.

Interesting. The last drop for black or orange colors was $10 less. Also the last drop hasn't even been delivered yet.

ThereallyhappysockThat isn't the same product. Rhodiarama is different from Rhodia. Although if you just want an orange or black Rhodia notebook, yes go to Amazon.

How does this drop justify $56? Three orange lined webnotebooks would cost $53.40 on amazon

Does "pH neutral" mean the paper is off white? What color is the inside paper?
timo

Nov 16, 2015
FlourishingPalmsyes, the webnotebooks are ivory; but no, pH-neutral doesn't necessarily mean that the paper is ivory. for instance, all Clairefontaine/Rhodia paper is pH-neutral, even the "on-white" varieties.

FlourishingPalmspH neutral just means that the chemistry of the paper won't change your ink color or the items glued or placed inside the book over time. Of course if you use acidic glue or tape, those could cause discoloration. Light cases discoloration too, but a closed notebook should be fairly protected against that over time.

cheaper elsewhere, would be $1 off if there wasn't shipping or tax.
