Alright.. now I'm gonna sound like a hypocrite.. this blade fits in my EDC criteria.. but goddamn is this little knife pricey! @Omniseed sell me this sub 3" Rike knife.. I mean I've dropped some coin on a Spyderco Mini Native and a GMF1 with Elmax steel.. but I don't really see the value in this drop. Over $150 for a knife this small doesn't seem reasonable to me.

I've got one and it's awesome, it's an M390 Ti integral with Rike's level of anodizing and a really nice clip, plus a crowned spine. It's pocket jewelery but also a perfectly good knife, the stock is a touch thick but the grind is pretty good anyway. It's tiny but it's definitely two hundred dollars worth of knife. This, the ZD-006 when on sale, and the pen are probably the best values from Rike.
Omniseed
and @pyrobunny I thank you for your honest and informed feedback on this lil blade. I appreciate you sharing your hands on experience with this knife and I will strongly consider getting in on any future drops for the Rike Thor 4. I've started this year with a whirlwind of knife purchases.. 3 new knives so far and I have 2 in the mail.. also one on preorder (TRM Neutron) which hopefully gets to me next month because it's been pushed back several times since last Nov. Think I need to slow down for a bit.. lol. Thanks again gentlemen!

I have one gave it to my wife to keep in purse, she uses it in situations were her pink pm 2 might scare people around her, materials and workmanship are outstanding,it is an integral, but it is not worth the price 120.00 would be more realistic.
This knife would have to hit a serious growth spurt to be worth the cost.
When they stop taking other knifemaker’s designs and presenting them as their own I might consider paying $120 for this crap.
This is a baby knife. Get real.
I understand this knife has top notch blade steel and the ano titanium but it's a tiny knife for the money!!!!👎👎👎
Qball50
Yep, too expensive and way too small for me.
So, we're going to drop this again for like the third time while STILL not addressing anyone's questions and concerns from previous drops? How very....typical 😒
damn i wish i had a job rn!
5th picture, yellow/blue annod one, look at the anno in the fuller of sorts on the lockbar side handle: horrible anno job. Check the reviews where someone else posted their horrible anno job as well. Not acceptable Rike, get your QC together.
LOL ... scroll down and watch the YouTube video of this knife ... it is tinier than tiny .. looks like something you'd expect to get out of a gumball machine! :-)
Does this knife have a warranty? With the qc issues I don't feel comfortable gambling 200 on this With the size of this knife the quality should be A++ , like the hummingbird
Ok MD what's the deal do you have mindreaders or is the force strong with you? I wanted the FF buck with a different blade design and there it is. Then , just yesterday, I was thinking I no longer have a knife with M390 steel and need to remedy that and... here it is. Guess it's mac and cheese with squirrel on the menu (or possum)
Gunnersmate2
Ohhh, I've never tried it with possum. I'll have to give that a go some time, if I can find possum up here. It's a bit chilly for their tastes. But squirrel is a fine meal if you can get enough of them to have a decent amount of meat. And when it comes to skinning them, well...thanks to the savings permitted by the squirrels what came before, I have many outstanding blade options.
Latest discovery: switched over from lead to steel shot loads. Not only is it healthier and more environmentally friendly, it makes de-shotting the carcass a breeze with the aid of a large magnet.
Hatuletoh
Vermin have the plague out here in North NV. Wish I could try some vermin meat.
I REALLY want a WE or Rike or NorthArm but none of the really nice looking knives are reversible, or have a lefty option. Maybe somehow massdrop can get on that.

Ominseed, you are always a welcomed notifacation, did you know that?
Benjabooly
Now I do :D
I got mine last night, and while it is a cool little knife, I have to say I am a bit disappointed in the quality. The anodizing on the back of the knife is marked up, and the anodizing is one of the key features for this premium knife. I wouldn't expect a premium $300 knife to come damaged out of the box. This is probably the last Rike knife I buy until they get their quality control figured out.

The pics actually show similar markups, I wonder why?

Now that you mention it, you can see very faint stripes at the same location in the photo of the grey version too. I've bought a Hummingbird (dark blue) and an 803CH Kwaiken (blue-purple) and the anodization on both of those is flawless. However, neither of those has an integral frame or any grooves as deep as on this Thor. I imagine it's easier to get a consistent finish on individual halves of the frame on those knives since you really only need good results on one side of each piece. As good as Rike's machining and anodization are in general, seems their ambition may have gotten ahead of their capabilities on this one.
I got mine last night, and I gotta say, I'm a little disappointed. I adore the styling, I'll always support crowning on the top of the blade, and until now, I've always personally had great experiences with my Rike knives.
But especially at this price/size ratio, I expected the knife to be stellar. Instead, I get inconsistent (and sometimes dangerous) lock-up, lock stick, centering issues, small blemishes and scratches on the blade, a burred edge, and burs left inside some of the milling. I get that integrals demand a price premium, but I'm not sure I'd spend another $200 on one of these, and I definitely wouldn't recommend one.
It's a cute little knife and the anodizing is beautiful (although a bit inconsistent in places), but I'm very underwhelmed.
Edit: The knife no longer locks up at all?

Wow, the fit and finish issues are not acceptable at this price. The lockup issues are not acceptable at any price. There are too many manufacturers doing great work for me to play QC lottery. Not many making premium short blades though. Get it together Rike!
Damn...... That lock up 🤪 Totally unacceptable
This is probably the highest quality production pocket knife you can legally carry in a US fed government office (2.5 in max).

Check out Kizer's 2.5" GTi as well, not a pretty knife but sweet sweaty spaghetti is it a fantastic user and comfortable to work with.
Love the idea of this knife, and really digging smaller knives lately, but having a hard time on the size to price ratio on this one.... Especially with some of the reviews from the previous sale talking about scratched up blades on arrival?
It's been hinted at and asked so many times here, are these Rike drops factory seconds and/or returns?
Nothing wrong with selling those, if the discount is worthwhile....but people need to know before they buy it that's the case

massdrop has been pretty good regarding labeling things as factory reconditioned or b-stock. They don't sell very many items that are refurbished or seconds, but when I have bought things like a takamine guitar b-stock through massdrop, it was clearly stated in the title and description and bullet point description. I think these are new stock otherwise I would not have joined both recent rike drops, but if there is any foul play, I would be more suspicious of the vendor (ie a distributor rather than the actual rike knife company) failing to disclose to massdrop the status of the items being distributed.

Yeah, it could easily be on the manufacturer as well. But regardless of where the issue is originating (if it is in fact an issue, and not just poor qc), it's MD who needs to provide an answer to us as the seller
It's just weird though that Rike knives on here seem to be the only ones where i keep seeing people question this (poorly ground detent holes questioned as factory seconds, people talking about scratched blades, scuffed handles, etc.)
The only Rike drop I've joined so far was for the hummingbird, and i got 3 perfect knives (aside from one slight overgrind on one of the blades, which can happen anywhere from any brand from time to time)
Size to hand comparison would be nice. Why pay $200 for a knife u can’t hold. EDC minimum for me is 3” Blade & 7”overall. Beautiful design though!
DanX
If you already know it's less than your minimum, would a photo of someone else's hand really help you decide?
Omniseed
Pictures didn’t show comparison so I chk specs. & made my decision. It was for others to reference but a picture of urs hands might change my mind. Lol
Can large hands actually get a decent grip on this? Also curious how hard it is to disassemble to service the pivot
wordfool
I have smaller hands, but I enjoyed watching this guy struggle with it. Not sure about the pivot.

Well it looked amazing in the picture, very unique in design and colors. But the overall size of the entire knife, is so small i have no idea what this would even be used for.
way too small of a handle to be able to correctly and securely hold this knife without potentially slicing yourself instead :/
would really like a refund. if possible please. -Jon
"EDIT" : I take back my negativity towards this knife, I absolutely love it.

Did you not read the size of the knife before you bought it? The knife is not too small to hold without slicing yourself. What if it was a 6" blade with an OAL of 12"? My Libby us, you can't tell from the pic, so all you had to do was read the size. A lot of knives have <3" blades and I've never sliced myself because of the small size. Also, why would you ask for a refund in the discussion section? That's like buying something from Amazon, writing in a review asking for a refund. The people taking care of refunds, and anyone else associated with MD, are not reading the discussion. Seems like you are just trying to stir things up.

After use of this knife, I take back my negativity towards it, I absolutely love this little knife. It is incredibly sharp and just perfect after use in certain situations.
I apologize for my first comment, but this has become one of my favorite "small bladed knives"
Beautiful looking knife....I was there until I realized how small they actually are.
I got this knife on last drop was some what disappointed because there is scratches on the blade. The blue anodized I picked was totally different from the picture, it is turn out to be blue and purple mix in together like a blurple color if you know what I mean.
I am still like the design nonetheless, the knife was very easy to taken apart with a torx t6. I feel like the knife I received is a factory second or something but hey you could be lucky and receive a good one.
Iam_dannybear
I had the same problems...lots of scratches on both sides of the blade, part blue, part purple anodization. Every Rike knife I’ve purchased has had issues! I expect more from a company who sells their knives for several hundred dollars a piece.
Size comparison between the Spyderco Slysz Bowie, the Lionsteel SR2 (another integral but aluminium, which sometimes drop on MD for $100), the MD x Ferrum Forge Falcon, and the Spyderco Lil’ Nilakka.

WAY too expensive for the size. If Rike forged this and the Hummingbird a bit larger, they'd both sell like hotcakes! What are they thinking over at that company?!

I don't think it will sell for $500 I can ask if they will have one without the lock and how much it will be but it's late in NYC so I don't think he will reply tonight I'll reply here when I get an answer, but keep in mind he might not be able to give me all the info.
Sounds like crkt's lawks.
Love the future tech-ey design on this handle, and I chose the golden/blue option because it reminds me of the Protoss from Starcraft. If only there was the damascus option, it would really lift up that aesthetic!
Nice looking knife, but 2.4” blade crosses the line from small to too small!
I received my Thor4 today. There are quite a few small scratches all over the blade. This is my first purchase with Massdrop, are these knives not brand new? Is that why they get a good price on them?
Time for a Rike  Kwaiken 1507S in M390 at a good price.  Choice of colors.   BRING IT ON please.  http://www.rikeknife.com/page144.html?product_id=278     http://www.rikeknife.com/page88.html?product_category=161&brd=1
Is TC4 titanium the cheaper, inferior titanium?

It can be argued that many manufacturers fit that bill.
nantipaneith
Yea I know that but I mean is that rike is trying to grow so great prices for great materials made to best they can be is what they will be putting out. Like zts s35vn is too soft to be good s35vn I don't know if they solved that issue but it was a problem and rike does one of the best jobs with m390.
Here is a size comparison next to the Thor 2, the knife is small but well made There is also 5 grooves on the top that can house Tritium vials for a bit more bling

Yeah I taught 3.5 is a bit big, seems as the slot measures 30mm x 4mm x 2.5mm. Does the tritium vial stick out from the frame a bit and yeah I'll be ordering from mixglo and thanks for replying man
Nugent91
You're welcome. And no, the vial is very flush against frame. They did a really good job machining the inserts. Throw up some pics when you do yours. Haven't seen many yet.
