I cannot understand paying this much for anything less than mechanical. I know "electro-capacitive" is good, but it is no where near the life cycle or quality of mechanical.

PramienjagerMy chattering Cherry and Matias switches laugh at you
PramienjagerThat's a really big misconception.
Life cycles mean nothing...mechanical keyboards are actually very unreliable because of all the individual parts. Those Dell rubberdomes are super reliable because it only relies on one rubber sheet, and this keyboard (as well as Topre) follows the same principles, versus the possibility of having one of the 60-100+ switches failing on a Cherry keyboard. As you can imagine, there's a much higher risk for failure of a Cherry keyboard.
Some day, I'll write a more elaborate version of this answer to share with everyone, but these keyboards definitely aren't a downgrade.
PramienjagerCapacitive keyboards like a Topre have a very long life cycle, so in that you are mistaken. That being said, these are not Topre and we can only speculate at their longevity based on their similarities.
ExpeditedExcept you can replace either the internals of a Cherry switch or the whole switch altogether. If a rubber dome gets ripped or worn out, it's pretty much done. Especially if the rubber domes are one continuous membrane. In this situation, Cherry boards are far more reliable in that they can be repaired.
PramienjagerI have to disagree with you on the quality issue. I just got a Novatouch and I can say for sure that it is equal to or greater in quality than any of the cherry mx switch based keyboards that I have. (Mx blues and browns). The feel is so much different from Cherries and I love it. It has no wobble, no feeling of mushy-ness that belong to cheap membrane keyboard land, and has such a satisfying 'thock' sound.
I do acknowledge that Cherry MX switches and clones have greater repairability. Switch die out, solder in a new one. Board completely fries, harvest the switches for new board, etc. However, I think for a majority of people that do not want to solder or open up their keyboards, a topre or clone has wonderful build quality and typing feel.
Torpre are like luxury cars, you cannot and do not want to mess with the machinery while Cherry are like suped up race cars that people have tinkered and fine tuned to their own taste and perfection.
H2O2When I mentioned quality I was speaking directly about the keys themselves, not the overall quality of the board. I am unfamiliar with this company and so have no opinion. That being said, when I mention quality, it refers primarily to life expectancy and function.
PramienjagerNo, In fact Topre could easily outlast cherry. No parts to break really. Nothings grinding. It's a superior design in every way really. Mechanical is archaic tech. Topre is future tech.
