While I agree that delays are annoying and communication could maybe be a little more frequent, I have to say that my customer service experience with Massdrop overall has been outstanding. I've only had one packing mistake ever in all the drops I've participated in (was missing the switches that came with a key switch tester, so kinda essential ;) but my email was answered right away and a replacement kit was sent out with no fuss. And that was for an inexpensive product that was very fiddly to distribute.
In contrast, I've been flat out ignored or given completely unhelpful canned responses from most larger, more well established / well staffed companies I've dealt with, even though I've purchased very expensive software or products from them. Massdrop's service is definitely in the top few I've experienced.
Also, anybody who has participated in "amateur" group buys on various enthusiast forums will appreciate how much easier, predictable, and more convenient the Massdrop experience is. I am quite thankful that they make getting hard-to-find niche products almost as easy as shopping on Amazon.
