I am looking to pick these up in the New Classic fit. I normally wear a size 34/30 in Levi's 501; what size and inseam would you recommend that i order so that these fit well?
bjpujolfit-wise when you compare these to the 501s, you can do just that -- 34x30 and be just fine.
Though i'd personally keep it a bit longer (maybe 31" inseam) to allow for initial shrinkage once you finally do wash them. Also consider whether you want to wear them cuffed or not, in which case i'd even go to a 32-33" inseam.
The header states "raw", so that means the jeans are not sanforized/pre-shrunk. However, the comment below about shrinkage after washing does makes me think that the jeans underwent some type of pre-shrunk process (due to the minimal shrinkage, but they will stretch out again). Has anybody washed their jeans two or more times and can report the dimensions after wash?
CompassionatorWe will be featuring unsanforized denim in the future, but not yet. These ones are sanforized and will shrink minimally (1-3%), mainly lengthwise.
I get one pair of these about a year ago, they have a good construction for the price tag, denim is good but dont expect sick fades from this ones, they will shrink a little after the first wash.
Ok I just went for it and they came out great. This was hot wash, cold rinse, hot dry. Used detergent even though that was obviously unnecessary. No noticeable fading or color bleed. I didn't measure before starting, but based on try-on before/after I'd estimate that they lost 1.5" in the waist, 1" in overall length, and are noticeably more snug all the way down. And my estimates are probably conservative tbh so make sure you really want a smaller pair before trying. Other than the size difference they look basically brand new. Hope this is helpful to anyone with the same issue!
EDIT: The leather tag did come out looking a bit more weathered than it went in. I like the change but be aware that it will probably happen.
I received mine and the quality seems awesome, but they are legit gigantic. Got the slims in my usual size, perhaps a mistake, but I'm not a particularly slim person so I figured it would be fine. Not so. How much will these shrink if I do the old hot water wash + hot dry?
