While I completely agree that this masterpiece is a classic watch that will last your wrist for years if not decades, it still has a mix of pros and cons. Also, since it's production was discontinued by the Seiko brand, it is short in the market.
Keeping all the data and information in my mind, I have written an extensive review of the Seiko Alpinist SARB017.
Here is the review of it: https://www.bellamen.com/seiko-alpinist-sarb017-review/
I would be happy for any suggestions.
Just ordered one at $277US, delivery included to North America. The price seems to good to be true, but I'll know in a month ( 28 day shipping was free, DHL was $150)
giogio_300My order was cancelled, and money refunded, three days after I placed it. I assume that it was an old listing they had neglected to delete... :-(
An online watch shop in Japan has it for under $350, and I was able to put it in the shopping cart and proceed to the checkout page. How much did this sell for on Massdrop?
CloacaI didn't copy the URL, but it was a normal jeweller who had an online presence, In general these guys are the best sources for recently discontinued watches. The Amazon.co.jp sellers sell out quick or raise prices. The local shops just keep on selling at their normal prices.
Sometimes Kakaku.com lists them, but the smaller guys you need to just find with Google.co.jp.
But honestly, if you really want the watch, I wouldn't quibble about $100 for something that is discontinued.
