Seiko’s Presage SSA line seamlessly blends a traditional and modern approach to design. Constructed with a stainless steel case and sapphire crystal, it’s built for the long haul. The 42-millimeter case sits relatively small on the wrist for an understated look. Made with Seiko 4R57, an automatic movement of 29 jewels, the watch features a 41-hour power reserve. It vibrates 21,600 times per hour. With the SSA, you needn’t worry about taking a dip in the water: it’s water resistant to 100 meters, too.
Note: At checkout, choose between the SSA303J1 (20 units), SSA305J1 (19 units), and SSA309J1 (+ $30, 20 units) models.
Perhaps most unique about the dial is the arcing curve from 11 to 4 o’clock, which denotes the remaining power reserve. Also notable is the subdial at 6 o’clock, which hugs close to the hour, minute, and seconds hand. It’s fitted with 31 numerals denoting the days of each month—a distinct take on the standard date window found in most timepieces. Absent of numerals, the dial has indexes marking each hour with smaller markers in between.
