A fat quarter of this fabric weighs 1.18 oz. Most quilting weight cotton fat quarters typically weigh about 1.4 oz.

Hi Rita, thank you for your reply, are you really sure it is quilting weight, as it is a very fine and thin fabric and I'm still not sure whether I could use this in a baby quilt that will be washed frequently.

These fabrics are not very fine nor thin. In fact, these fabrics are slightly sturdier than typical quilting cotton because the weave is a little tighter. These fabrics would be perfect for any frequently washed patchwork quilt. I'm working on sewing a baby quilt with this same fat quarter bundle.

I have a query about the weight of this fabric. I notice it is poplin and not a quilting weight fabric. Can you please advise if this fabric is suitable for quilting, being a lighter weight is it designed for making clothing? Thank you, looking forward to your answer.

The Serengeti quilting weight organic cotton poplin is slightly more tightly woven than typical quilting cotton and the hand is smoother and softer.

Thanks again for joining the drop with the community. We submitted the group’s order with the vendor for the Serengeti Fat Quarter Bundle shortly after the drop ended and they have begun preparing it for shipment.
Once the group’s order is ready at the vendor’s location, they will send the bulk shipment to our fulfillment center where we’ll break it up into individual orders and ship them off to you as soon as possible.
The moment we receive confirmation regarding the shipping schedule from the vendor, we will provide you all with updated information on the status of your package.
