In Norse mythology, the Vegvísir is a compass that protects one from losing their way. Taking inspiration from this Icelandic belief, these spinners feature the Norse compass engraved into a satisfying body in your choice of bronze or .925 silver Read More

Check out their Etsy too for more coins. Went looking for them as I wasn't interested in this design, but the ideas, and they have a lot of them! I hope we get more drops from them soon of the other coins.

If not as a spinner, a thicker version would be nice. Like I said, I really like it- but I'd like it even more if it were thicker :)

I have one of your Roswell coins. I love the piece, but it is kinda small. I would love a similar coin in a quarter-sized version, and if you made a spinner version the same size as your other spinners then I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Compass coins might be even cooler if they included an internal magnet, and could thus be used as an actual functioning compass. The existing spinner would work for this. After the top was spun, it would gradually come to rest pointing north (theoretically). I don't know what effect the other metals would have on the magnet inside, but neither brass nor silver are magnetic themselves. A ceramic body could be pretty well guaranteed not to interact with an internal magnet. Alternately, they could be made out of iron which is magnetised, and covered with an anti-rust coating.

ShirepostAny word on that? I would have thought anything with this much mass would be too much for that use.

Vegvísir is an Icelandic stave, not a compass. It says "guide me through the rough weather ahead" The other runes are arbitrary and mean nothing relevant.

First spin went for a bit over 11 minutes. However, subsequent spins now average between 5-6 min. on a good spin. Been pretty careful in handling the coin and the balance still seems good. Has anyone else had a significant drop in spin time?

Izzy34The spin surface can actually vary the spin time that far. A perfectly cleaned with alcohol spin station actually has a bit of friction. I know this sounds weird, but try rubbing it ith your fingerprint oils. This can add 7 min to a spin time from a clean glass surface.

ShirepostI was just thinking about this earlier. Has anyone tried polishing their spinning base with a thin layer of silicone lubricant? I'm betting that'll improve spin times significantly. Going to give it a shot later today.
