I found the Daylight company to be quick to respond and quick to steer you in the right direction. After a couple of years I was moving my sewing room around. I tried to lock mine on to my new desk, apparently, it did not like me that day and the piece that does the clamp broke. I didn't realize that there was something underneath the desk that I did not see. I found the company, sent them a picture and they led me to a site where I could order that piece for $25. I was going to have to purchase a new light, and in a few days my clamping piece was back in service. Best $25 I ever spent! When I purchased mine I can't imagine how I did without it. This is a deal!
Looking for the floor model
I screw mine to the side of the table, I don’t mind that there’s no base, I need the space for quilting supplies.
I love these lights, own 3 of them in my sewing room. My nail place has them over each station. Great for night sewing or on a gloomy day.
Received mine yesterday. Packed very well and easy to set up. Love it! Much more light over my cutting table now! Wish I had bought two of them! And I agree with another comment - next time give us a choice to add the base as an add-on.
Wish this shipped to Canada. And yes it would be nice to have the base as an add on.
I have one of these over my cutting table and over my sewing machine. It’s great on a cloudy day or night sewing. The place where I get my nails done has them over each station. Great lighting for detail work. College student need extra ligh, this would be my pick!
Does this light have different levels of brightness? Wish they would have offered the table base as an add on option!
I purchased one of these years ago from Joanns for quilting retreats when lighting is terrible. I LOVED it so much that I purchased another one for a back up. It lights my entire table top and I paid MUCH more than the price listed. Like Judy, I transport it but I use a small swimming noodle cut to size. Hope that helps.
What's the CRI rating for this lamp? I can't find that info anywhere; combined with the "Daylight" language everywhere, I'm inclined to believe that these will be absolutely horrible for actually seeing the color of things.
Has anyone used this lamp on a grand piano?
Frustrating that you only ship to the USA. This is not a large or oversize item.
What is the CRI?
Has it shipped---it is the 7th---no light???
I’m going to assume it is the daylight lamp, and add my two cents. I bought one of these in Houston a couple of years ago. I am now the subject of “light envy” when I take it to retreats. It does an amazing job of filling my workspace with bright white light.
A feature you may not know is that it pops apart into pieces; the light bar and the main part of the light structure snap together, the lamp pops into the table clamp, and the power cord pops into the connector near the base. I actually keep it in a plastic artist tube intended for transporting rolled drawings. The only addition I made was to purchase a pipe insulation sleeve that I cut to the length of the light bar so I don’t have to worry about it getting scratched or broken.
the Daylight company is very responsive to service inquiries as well. I damaged the power cord to my wafer light,a and was at a loss as to determining how to replace it. After I confirmed the serial numbers and purchase, the sent me a replacement free!
Can you get a base for it?
