Since being founded in 2003, PLX widebands has helped tune engines worldwide to run more cleanly, efficiently, and powerfully. This fourth generation combo kit is a fast and accurate way to monitor and troubleshoot your air-to-fuel ratio, and it’s got some serious improvements from the past generation—like using only seven watts instead of 10, faster response and warm up times, and more accurate readings all around Read More
drfriskerI personally experienced this. When my tuner said my AFR was off, I went to the forums and asked if anyone had similar issues. There was a tuner who replied where he had customers with AEM widebands that didn't read correctly in 2 out of 10 cars (he says he tunes about 15 cars a week).
For me when I switched my AEM out for PLX the AFR readings were consistent between my tuner's reader and the PLX. Nothing changed in my setup... same mods, same tuner, different wideband. I was in disbelief as well because I know AEM is very well known and I would never doubt their products.
These are really good... but; I have two that after 4+ years the display has faded to unreadable in one case and only visible at night in the other case. But probably for many people they'll be onto their next car by then :P
I love that you can switch between boost and AFR for example on the go.. it's a really good gauge!
This is a really nice unit, it allows you to connect multiple sensors and set up some simple alarm logic. For example I have a wideband and boost gauge hooked up to it and it will alert me if my AFR falls below a certain value if I'm in boost.
