This was such a disappointing buy. Tried to grind dried herb, the teeth hit each other and scrape off metal into everything. The two teethed parts cannot even screw into one another easily as the teeth always hit. I cannot use this because it scrapes metal and I don't want to accidentelly smoke it. Yes I can grind and then put it in a chamber but I feel as though this was a waste of money. Faulty, dangerous, and just not worth it.

I was lucky enough to see one of these systems in person, and was disappointed with what I felt was a cheaply manufactured piece of equipment. The threads ground together instead of mating smoothly, there were obvious machining marks left on it, just all in all not worth the price, in my opinion.
I actually purchased a knockoff from my local brick-and-mortar head shop for around $25, because it felt way better in my hand, though it didn't have a four-piece grinder built in, just a two-piece.
Anyway, if the quality has increased, I would definitely be up for purchasing several more as gifts and for personal use. I hope someone can let me know.

We’ve submitted our order for Smocan System shortly after the drop ended.
Now that the order has been placed, Smocan is preparing it for shipment. In the meantime, we will also be getting our warehouse ready to handle the reshipment of the product to everyone as soon as it arrives.
Expect an update from us on 12/03 or sooner if something comes up.

Interesting, is the grinder anodized, like the Santa Cruz?
The price point on the final drop seems fair: Mini Grinder - $20 + Jyar - $20 + One hitter / Lighter - $5

KloudSocietyAgreed, grate price. Even if grinder is just so/so. Long as it doesn't suck lol.
Though grinder is key selling point for me, followed by air and light tight container second... Guess space case does that to you. *shrug* and it's also sentimental, so there is that too. Lol

@slaithe Thanks for your feed back- I really appreciate it. Something to keep in mind is that the intention of the Smocan is to give you all the tools you need so you can smoke when you're away from home (Camping, Snow Boarding, Concert etc.). We're certainly not attempting to replace your full time grinder you have at home. That's why the "Swiss Army Knife" comparison gets made.
So if you're looking for something portable that holds all your core tools, is water and odor resistant, then the Smocan will do the trick!
