Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. Their website is hard to get to and harder still to navigate. This guy has them all posted on reddit.
Also, when you go to install your driver make sure you move it out from under the Chinese labeled folders or you will get a error kicked back.(The installer wont recognize the Chinese characters in the filepath)
WASAPI: 6- regarding getting the full performance (maybe not intended for you but answers my previous question) go to this link and download foobar200 add-on WASAPI LINK : http://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_out_wasapi 7- install (it should prompt an open with foobar) and restart foobar 8- in foobar go to file--> preferences--> playback + Output --> and select WASAP (events) : Speakers smsl m6 *note using wasapi seems to enhance the quality quite a bit but it stops all sounds outside of foobar from working (games, youtube videos etc) so much be switched back to DS: Speakers (smsl m6) once you are done listening to some tunes
hope this helps!
EDIT: for a good foobar skin I see is working with the current build and easy to install - http://br3tt.deviantart.com/art/HiFoo-v1-7-5-244531383
